As a devil fan I am happy to get the win. The kids found a way to win in spite of the coaching staff. Game management and special teams????? Has not gotten better over the last couple seasons. It is embarrassing. Go devils!!!!

Hats off to the cats! Whipping Oregon at Autzen is no easy task.

Prepare for a wet campout. Roads ... you should be ok. Lots of all weather roads in those areas. Use common sense on the others. Bring rain gear and rubber boots. Cool, wet weather usually touches off lots of bugling. Have fun.

Shot a lot without hearing protection when I was young. I am a tradesman, literally everything around a tradesman is noisy all the time. My hearing was OK through most of it although I wore protection intermittently. As I approach old age my hearing degrades annually. Tinnitus is present at all times (sometimes it literally roars). Protect yourselves or you'll pay the price later in life.

Doubt anybody on this site has EVER seen a set of these for anywhere close to this price. My post was merely to make my CWT brethren aware of a situation.

Set available on Craigslist in Chandler. Pricing is substantially below going price. Anybody "lose" as set?

Whopper bull! Congrats to all and thx for posting it up. -
Cardio 3-4 days per week, 40-50 minutes. Stair climbers, elliptical, and other variants. Some strength training. "Fork-ups" are my primary issue. I've had substantial issues with pain in my knees. When the pain gets severe, I take Naproxin till the pain subsides then cease the medication. Interestingly enough, I started a low carb diet and within 2 weeks the pain in my knees went away. I truly believe that excessive carbs inflames my joints. Whether or not it is a gluten issue, I don't know. Sure is nice to NOT have joint pain.

I'm just glad to have a ticket to the dance. Look forward to 14 days of "play". We have prepared well and will work hard. When it's over, that's all that matters to me. -
Which caliber of tikka t3 lite for me?
Swivelhead replied to CSNeoM4A1's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
When it comes to cartridges that produce 15#'s or more recoil, most people will shoot a braked rifle better. A lightweight rifle like the T3 is going to have a little more push than most. I've got a 7 mag with a brake, recoil is nil (not a T3). -
Desert Bighorn Sheep Scoring and Field Judging-What does this Ram Score?

Got close. Thought his horns were shorter than the actual measurement but thought he had more mass. Guessed him at 9 years old. How old is he? -
Looks like a good time. Really nice buck. BTW I've heard blacktails are top notch table fare, is it true?

This story is about as good as it gets. Congrats.

Which caliber of tikka t3 lite for me?
Swivelhead replied to CSNeoM4A1's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Lots of good info here. I've got a T3 lite in 300 WSM, it's got some thump but not unreasonable. If I had it to do over again, I'd get a 7 mag. Toms of factory ammo available at a decent price. 7mm bullets carry well too. -
Walkstool is a brand of three leg stool. Very light, strong but somewhat pricey. Worth every cent.
-
That's a great little tripod. Two friends of mine use those legs with a ph-113V pan head instead of the ball head. These guys maul their equipment and this combo has held up. Holds a large spotter in the wind surprisingly well. Get yourself a walkstool and your set.

Very nice. Thx for posting.

If you have to do it, wait till the water is receding. Pick a section and pre-scout. Set up your shuttle and go for it. Fences, strainers, pipelines all can put you in a bag. Better yet, take mulepacker up on his offer.

Guides/outfitters are under tremendous pressure to produce results for their clients. Suspect most guides would double their income working at McDonalds. No doubt, guiding is a labor of love, emphasis on labor. The business is already highly regulated, how they produce profit is beyond me. Leave em' alone! Gang hunting, finders fee's, trail cams, etc. are a relatively new phenomenon. Government moves slowly, how public land managers, AZGF get around to dealing with these issues (if at all) will be interesting. IMO: Gang hunting: I do it myself, these days tags are tough to come by. When a buddy draws something good I'm there. I try to respect fellow hunters, I stick to the roads and sit behind my optics. Don't know how you can prevent a citizen or a licensed outfitter employee from accessing public land for work or play. Gang hunting is here to stay, the trick is to respect others who do have a tag. Finders fee's: IRS, yeah, those guys and 1099's. Forest Service, BLM, etc. will probably be looking for a cut too. Suspect government likes finders fee's. Trail cams, ground blinds, tree stands, waterhole competition, etc: Not sure how this will go but at some point it does become an eyesore. Suspect this will be the only issue that get's dealt with by public land managers. Complaints by hunters and other land users who have issues with finding their public lands littered with devices left by others may get attention via regulation at some point. Personal surveillance systems ought to well concealed (less theft and "out of sight, out of mind"). Photo's of other recreationists probably shouldn't be blasted over the internet. A little etiquette by cam users could go a long way. Flame on!

I've got no issue with a .223 or 22-250 for yotes. Never lost one if I did my part. 22LR is another story, while attempting to save fur I went through a phase back in the day with the 22LR. Double lung hits and they'd run far enough that recovery was uncertain. Stuck on saving fur, I went for CNS hits with the beloved 22LR. Worked well but brain & spine is a much smaller target. My opinion: Leave the 22LR in the truck. On another note: If I'd used a shotgun with hot loads for all my calling back in the day I'd likely doubled my kill numbers. Shotguns are very forgiving, especially when a quick shot on moving targets is all you've got. #4 buckshot is probably best but I like BB's too.
