The modern equipment you mention in your post (except trail cams) all have one thing in common: The user must be present to operate said equipment. Most of us can only use 1 rifle, bow, etc., at any given moment. Same with optics, rangefinders, etc. Maintaining 7/24/365 surveilance in 5, 10, 20+ locations is a tremedous advantage when "proofing" an area for whatever it is a TC user is looking for. That being said, automated surveilance of public places is not a AZGF issue.

I had hoped Swaro would offer their latest SLC HD upgrade in 12X56. I've got 10X50 SLC NEU's, they are brilliant. Don't really see a need for 8's or 10's in 56 mm for terrestrial viewing. That being said, the 10X50 NEU's likely weigh more than SLC HD 56's. Swaro hit a homer with the latest SLC version.

I agree and disagree with that. heck, leaving your house for the day is a risk just like everything else in life but if someone steals a $200 item while Your gone Are you just supposed to let it go? Now say all your neighbors had the same issue, Im gonna guess youd be on the hunt too. If a low life camera thief (that is what they are), follows you around swiping your cams that you have placed on public land, unfortunately, you have no lawful recourse. Law enforcement won't do anything. End of story.

Trail cams are a risk/reward thing. Accept it and move on.

Next time somebody asks me why I need a semi-automatic weapon and a 30 round magazine, I'll answer "coyotes". Works for two or four legged models.

^^^ This Often, a camera survey is inconclusive. If the buyer wants a camera survey, let him/her pay for it. It's a sellers market right now.

Signs, vehicles, blinds, stands, trail cams, etc are all used by claimers to attempt exclusive use of an area. Unless I see something with a heartbeat and a weapon, I go where I please. When I sit water, I expect company, part of the game.

Fished Pratt Lake in the early 70's. I'd always heard you had to hide behind a tree to put on a bait. We caught nothing. Roads were bad back then (especially when wet). We would drive through the H-V ranch headquarters and four wheel up the ranch road to the lake. Shaved a lot of time off the trip. Tried the lake 3 or 4 times with no fish. Figured it had winter killed.

Get a gas set up for sure. Flux core for outdoor use (wind). A fab table with a vise (or two), clamps, etc. make welding a whole lot easier. Welding is basically puddle watching. Make sure your dad has cheater lenses and any other aid to assure he is seeing the action. Leather too, getting burnt up by radiation is no fun.

Reminder: Trail cam meeting/webcast tonight at main G&F office

Despite all the comments to the commissioners by advocates for trail cam use, I believe the real reason that a ban was not approved is that it truly is unenforceable. Live cams included. IMO, until BLM, Forest Service etc. decide to ban sureveilance devices on public lands, cameras will remain legal. -
Looks class IV to me. Heat and Lucafu pretty much nailed it IMO. Boom!

Apparently a prosecutor and a judge believe there is enough evidence to issue warrants for siezure and presumably arrest. Your brother has a lot at stake. You may want to stay quiet on this issue or at least consult your brothers attorney before providing info to world wide web.

Dream buck .......... now a nightmare. Don't know the story but that deer (and us) deserve better. Don't like being lied to.

What spine carbons do you suggest? I'm having a heck of time finding aluminum anymore. https://www.cabelas.com/product/EASTON-LEGACY-FEATHER-ARROWS-PACK/2225395.uts?productVariantId=4570776&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=04428511&rid=20&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoMTy4eCt2wIVWJ7ACh0i1gubEAQYAiABEgK2pPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Please dont shoot carbons out of a recurve at game. Buy these. You wont get velocity with a recurve so you need to rely on weight. Carbons are awesome out of a traditional bow. Durability is off the charts. It's easy to get a carbon arrow over 500 grains with steel broadhead adapters, weight tubes and a chunky traditional head. FOC is excellent too. My favorite arrow is a Victory 500 tipped with a Zwickey eskimo on a steel BH adapter (about 200 grains). Use it to hunt jackrabbits in the malapai. Holds up very well.

Trail cams allow anybody to have 7/24/365 surveilance of public lands in as many locations as a participant is willing to maintain. I do enjoy looking at all the photos users post. At the end of the day, it is a fair chase issue. I support a ban. -
You'll enjoy it. Have fun!

Does that count? Heck yeah. Congats to the lady Cats.

I don't care what everyone else is putting in for, just what I am putting in for. When I drew my antelope tag I applied for one choice and drew tag #1. I am open to 22 or 24B, not really thinking there are 180 class sheep in any other units right now. Likely, you will draw whatever you want within the next five years.

Interesting point that I had not really looked at. Cant tell how many of them have killed their desert but it looks like last year 18 of the max point holders applied for Rocky and 7 drew. that's just the bonus pass. I am one point shy of max, killed a desert in Nevada a few yrs ago but really want an Az desert ram. Plus I should draw Wyoming or Colorado some day for Rocky. Stay Positive! Based on the 2017 BP reports there were 37 max point holders that applied for RMBS. Seven drew as previously stated, all in the 20% pass. None of the max point holders who applied for RMBS drew in the 1-2 pass. Likely, most of the max point holders applying for RMBS have taken their desert rams. I would assume that 30 of the 66 max point holders are vying for rocky permits. It is likely that the 36 max point holders going for desert sheep will hold out for the very best units. I expect the bulk of the 20% permits will skew to the rocky side of the equation in the short term. Suspect it won't be too much longer and we'll see the 20% pass dip into the next lower point group. I'm no guru but this is what I think will happen.

STOP SHOOTING IMMEDIATELY! No need to entrench a bad habit. Blind bale and do "letdowns" for a few weeks. Safety your release when doing letdowns. Letting down sounds easy but takes serious discipline, we all want to loose arrows but don't do it during this training phase. About the time you're ready to swear off archery alltogether, stand close to a big target and execute a shot. If all goes well, continue. The INSTANT you sense a drivebye, trigger punch, etc. STOP and revert to blind baling & letdowns. The goal is a relaxed shot and an amazing follow through. Do not to shoot when fatigued. These techniques are from the archives of Archery Talk and will work. The trick is to never let panic back into your shooting, i.e. if you are shooting a tournament or at a range with friends and panic sets in, STOP! Either stop shooting or do letdowns the rest of the course. Your scores will suck if panic is ruling the day anyway.

I'm curious, if it's all volunteers doing the hauling, where does the $1,000,000.00+ cost for hauling water I keep hearing about come from? Haven't heard about a $1,000,000. cost for hauling water. Our little 3 man crew has moved 49,900 gallons of water over 3,100 miles of not so friendly N AZ backcountry and we have only been in 5B north and 7E. Others in 7W and 9 have probably hauled a lot more. 5BN roads are bad. Got to be hard on equipment. Kudos to all who haul water for our wildlife.
