glad to see you talked to the other buyers .keep up the good work.

The fur prices at the sale in Farmington didn't seam to be any better than the sale in globe.I was on another site that said some people that pulled their fur at the globe auction pulled their fur at Farmington as well. Its got to eat into your profits to travel all over the country trying to make a few more dollars on your fur.

Why is the kingman doing this.Is it so they can claim the highest average paid?It should be up to the buyers weather they want to bid on it or not.Just my opinion.

I was happy with what I got at the globe sale.

NICE bucks brian! -
Patrick jr you're right most of us are nuts .I might have cleared two dollars an hour.If that's not nuts I don't know what is.The sad part is I will be out there next year doing it again

You're right wdenike, fleshing is more important than anything else.I'm a taxidermist in show low and a good fleshing job= a good cape.

The way you put up your fur is always a factor in what you get for it but there is more to it than just that.I saw a lot of fur that was put up great that went for less than mine. The size is always a factor but the length of the hair and wide white bellies seamed to be what they were looking for to me.I Know the guy who got 1050 dollars for his cat and it had long hair and a very wide white bellie. It stretched 42 inches which is a good tom but it wasn't a giant cat.Its not fair for Hyperwrx to blame bonecollector777s fur handling for his low offer when he hasn't seen his fur.I would have took offense to that comment myself.there are a lot other hunters and trappers that do an excellent job on their fur

If the prices continue to stay low it might thin out the newbies that thought they were going to get rich.
-
Cograts to standman ,I saw your fox sell and they looked awesome! I only got 27 dollars for mine this year.Last year I got 33 dollars
-
Thanks bonecollector 777.I don't think I would have sold mine for 110 dollars either.I stood at the end of the stage watching the pelts go though the auction trying to figure out what the buyers were looking for.I couldn't make any sense out of what they wanted.
-
Prices were down but I think we all got spoiled last year.I've sold fur off and on for the last 20+ years and these prices were more normal.I had 5 cats all of them were females in the 34 to 36 inch range and I averaged 275 dollars.I went ahead and sold mine.I might regret selling them but it cost a lot off money to travel around to all the auctions or ship them to the auction houses.

You don't want the water to boil.Just let it simmer'

I use #4 buck for coyotes.I shoot the 2 3/4 inch shell with 27 pellets. The lighter the load the more velocity you have.More shot is not always a good thing.A 1 1/4 ounce load is all you need to knock a coyote off his feet at 45 yards.

thanks jim

This is a first for me.A pig in a cage trap.Caught him today.

Can you still buy just a fishing lic. or do you have to buy a combo lic, just to fish.
-
Hyperwrx Did you move your cage or rebait the same set?I'm using the camtrip cages.I was impressed with how tough they are.
-
While rabbits, quail and mice are their main diet I know for a fact they kill deer so I don't see why they wouldn't eat a javalina. We use skunk scent to carry the bait and lure smells farther from our traps. My thought was the javalina smell might do the same thing.I don't know for sure.Lions also kill javalina so I don't see why a bobcat wouldn't take a small one.
-
do you wear gloves when you pet your dog or cat?Domestic animals carry more diseases than wild animals do.
-
The whole area stunk.I thought about moving the set but I don't know if the smell would hurt or help.Maybe some of you other trappers out there would know.
