Anyone know if the 17wsm is legal for javalina.It has almost twice the energy at 200yrds as the 22mag and I know the 22mag is legal for javalina.

Try to make it to the trappers convention in globe.They have a lot of people that are eager to help you.It is normaly in mid summer.Hyperwrx's might now when it is.

I have shot over a dozen javalina In my lifetime and have skinned tons of them in my taxidermy shop.They have very thin skin.I have shot them with rifles muzzleloaders and bows.I have never shot one I didn't recover.It is all about shot placement just like any other animal.

you can give them a couple of licks on a sharpening steel to get a little more life out of them.I have both of the havalons.Its all I use in my taxidermy shop for capeing.

This caliber has been on the market for almost two years now.You would think they could keep up with the times better than that.But it is a government run agency were talking about.

Get rid of the online draw system and make everyone pay up front like it use to be.Im sure this would cut down on the number of apps.

If you lie on your report you could get caught if you took your animal to the taxidermist or the meat locker.All the tags are recorded and turned in to game and fish.You can bet they cross reference all these records with the surveys.

Don't forget about the wolves.They are putting a dent in the deer and elk population also.

I am the one who refered to the rule on the use of FMJ bullits .If I offended anyone by doing this I am sorry.It wasn't my Intent.I was just informing members about the law.

FMJ bullits are not legal to take wildlife in this state.Read the game and fish regs R12-4-303.I would agree with patrickjr .The 17hmr is a good choice if your saving the fur.I use a shotgun for taking 90% of the fur bearers I take.

This is what happens with the more hunter opportunity mentality of the game and fish dept.Its only going to get worse.Just my opinion.

I have guided for money and just to help out friends and family.Every one has their own opinions on this .Some people don't feel comfortable doing it on their own.They might not know how to take care of an animal once it is down or they might just want some help.Most of us on this site have friends or family we hunt with but there is a lot of people that don't have some one to go with.I say to each his own.I will say that scouting to me is as much fun as the hunt and if you hire a guide you are missing out that part of the hunt.

Not a great bull but the background and the pose was cool.This was taken about the first of sept.I forgot to set the time and date on my cam.

Linda shot this bull at 60 yards through the lungs with a pink arrow.

I wont lie .It was exciting for both of us,a few tears were shed.It's pretty cool to see anyone get their first animal with a bow.
