don't listen to one shot.I'm a taxidermist and I hate when hunters do this to me.If your cape is good then save your cape,you have to skin it anyway.Why pay 125 dollars more when you don't have to.

The cordless sawzall would be great for cutting the skull cap.I use the gutless method and debone everything.Cant eat the bones so why pack them out.

I usually grind bacon in mine.you get the fat from the bacon plus it tastes good.Its alittle pricey though.

Human pressure is probably more to blame than elk numbers.The elk are still there.It seams like every year you have to get farther into the back country to find good bulls.

If you think its ok to shoot a bull late in the day and wait till morning to gut and retrieve it don't invite me over for elk steaks.

Not every hunter owns a full size truck to get their elk home in.This is the way I got my last bull back to camp.

Cant beat a Lab for ducks but if you hunt quail you should get a pointer of some sort.

Thanks for all the info.My son and I have three so far we are looking for three more.All three are great mules and the most we paid was 2000.00.They are out there but good ones are hard to find.We have been pretty lucky so far.
