Here's a little humor to take your mind off the gay issue.

Where will the madness end.The next thing they will want is to marry their mother or father, sister or brother or their dog or cat.

Summer hides are not worth saving. You cant give them away.I don't like to shoot them till the fur is good.Just my opinion
-
Ditto on the borax.I use it when fleshing hides and I dry wash my furs after I take them off the stretcher.Try to make it to the trappers convention this summer. They have all kinds of seminars on putting up fur.I've learned a lot there.
-
I roll them up starting from the nose with the hair side out.Put them in a large plastic ziplock bag and freeze. They will keep for at least one year like this.Dont salt them .They will get stiff as a board and you wont be able to stretch them.

Thanks for the information.I have shot it quite a bit and I was surprized how well it shoots.

I don't have much info on it.The guy that told me it was pre-civilwar is a collector of military weapons. He sent pictures of it to a history buff he knew and he said it was pre-civilwar.He also said it was probably made for a wealthy person. Most of them were not that fancy. It has a couple of screws that look like they were replaced.

I agree 100% with Sean (rossislider) but we also have to clean up our elections.Im slill not convinced Obama realy won.I still believe most americans are smarter than that

the ringtails are not worth much.I saw a couple sell for $12.00 at the fur sale.I'm a taxidermist so I saved mine to sell to the taxidermy market.
