here are a few pictures of all my coues deer horns i found in 2011, most of them were found on fires
-
yeah i posted on that topic, the head and two other horns in that pile came off fires that had been burned over. the head had some broken tines and had been chewed on a bit but the fire had no affect on it besides browning it a bit. thx for the comments!

awesome job! 425 is a heck of a shot for most any hunter but those 300 ultra mags sure do make it easier haha i shot my first coues this year at 380 with a 300 sendero ultra and it was cake. Congrats to your woman and two very nice animals!

danners are ok but i've always been a fan of nicks but they are a little pricy compared to danners. but i recently bought a pair of lowa boots and for the price they are well worth it, maybe something to look into

7 mm or 300 ultra, both are sweet guns and are more than capable of taking down any deer or big game

I've found a few really good horns after a fire and most of the time they aren't in too bad of shape, the really chalked ones don't hold up too well but otherwise burned areas are good places to look. But, as a firefighter for the forest service I do get a bit of an advantage at first picks!
