YAY! A group of people, some of whom don't even live in this state, without evidence, or rational F**thought, was able to postpone a conservation project designed to protect actual NATIVE wildlife. Way to keep up the degradation of our fragile ecosystem. And here's the best part: Very few of people against this spend the money sportsmen do to for conservation, yet, our passions are the ones being negatively effected the most. So you'll "save" them, but only when its on someone else dime. And thank you Mr. Governor, you truly are a flake, in name and in character.

An old 410/22 over under that was given to me buy a very old family friend. My no good, POS ex-brother stole it and claimed it as his after our father passed. Wish i had that thing, twas a perfect rabbit /squirrel gun....

I don't think I could shoot one either... Im pretty sure I could shoot a whole dang heard if I didn't run out of bullets or they didn't get out of range. I may even wear a smile. Thats funny right there, I don't care who ya are...

There have been wild Horses running around in Arizona way before the rodeo fire and yes they are a pain in the butt and left unmanaged a real issue... But what you say is a bit over the top since The ELK herd we enjoy hunting is not native to Arizona ( our Native elk were hunted out) .... I know a lot of guys up north pissed at the removal of small mouth from Rim lakes heck most of our game fish species are not native, and thank god for that.... The elk herd is at least native to North America. And we are allowed to manage their population. They should sell tags for the ponies. Been saying this for years! Preach on!

I love my Kenetreks. Super comfy and great support. Having said that, I have worn the soles out within 3 years and I'm sending then back for repairs. Was thinking of having then put the Vibram soles on them instead of the K-Talon, but I really like the traction and grip of the k-talon....

I wear them whenever I'm shooting these days. Even dove hunting. I bought some i saw on tv, kinda like a headband, works great and easy to use.

Tempes is getting it right now! Washing off all the mud on my truck. And I just f*&$ing put that there.

To hunt or to scount when in a new area?
Antmo23 replied to TonyC's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I dont worry about it in July, but i wouldn't do that in October. -
I don't change bullet weights. My gun, Winnie Cooper, likes the 168gr TTSX and that's what I give her. Coues, mulie, Antelope, bear, mt lion, and elk, Id have confidence in a clean, quick kill with anything in Az, except maybe a buffalo.

I smoked a fox, recovered him, then sat back down behind my nocs and found the buck I've been chasing for the last few years. -
Best rifle cartridge for open terrain - Unit 21 Whitetail hunt

257 wby or Roberts is what I'm thinking for my daughter and my GF. -
Glass first. Always. Your .270 is a great multi-species round.

If you're new to the area, you better find a way to go more than once of twice... I've never hunted down there, but azgfd.com will give you starting points that you can expand on once youre in unit. December hunts are hard to come by, you've got a golden ticket, don't waste it.

Had a buddies elk that had a broken back leg that was healed over, a gore wound in his butt, and a hematoma along one whole side. Think he got hit by a car when he was younger and took a butt-whoopin from a different bull.

Load it up with the Barnes TTSX in 165 or 168 and you'll be GTG.

Sounds like she had good taste. Elk salami, eggs and beer sounds good! I'm sure everybody paid after she stole the chili verde! Not me! Thankfully, I was on the hill, chasing the Grey Ghost. From what i heard upon my return, lots of whimpering in the back yard and the pooper scooper got used a bunch, lol.

I had NO IDEA what i was getting into when we got her. I learned real quick about her escape ability, and her very anti-leash mentality. She was like a hooked trout, leaping and head shaking every time we went for a "walk". She was a handful and a half but she excelled for what we got her for, companionship and her watchdog abilities. And while I can't say that I miss the ankle nips, I do miss my green-eye lady. Oh, and PS: she WILL get any and all food left on the counters/tables, in the garbage, and into the refrigerator if given half a chance. 2 dozen eggs, a half stick of elk salami, and a 6er of beer in one refrigerator raid. She also snuck a gallon ziplock full of venison carne con chili verde off the table as I was packing up for a deer hunt. She paid for it though, i make my chili verde HOT, lol.

I had one, she was never able to to off a leash, lol. Whicked smart though, she was like Houdini with some of her escapes. And she would use her paws like a cat! Fastest paw speed I've ever seen. Good luck with her, hope she's not as bullheaded as mine was.

I have the Icon 1850 and love it. Everything is right where it needs to be and it handles a load very well. The load sling mode is stupid easy. When loading up last years buck, I looked around like, "no way it was THAT easy... I'm forgetting something..." I wasn't. I was just used to lasharooing my deer to my pack frame.
-
Id hammer the first buck you see down there.

Charges finally showed up, it hit on Saturday. I'M GOING HUNTING!
