The weather has always been a lil nasty in 6A. I went on 2 late Oct WT hunts and had rain, hail, biting cold wind, freezing cold nights, sunshine, and pea soup fog, all in the same hunt! Prepare for the worst, and hope it doesn't get wet, because rain will make the roads into a slippery mess. I'd do whatever I could to get away from the roads. You and you're Father are going to be 2 of 825 hunters for that hunt, so do what you can to get away from the masses. Good luck out there!

I am not religious in any way shape or form, but you bet your butt I've prayed to the Deer Gods on a number of occasions! I think it's a good idea, because we get to enjoy and experience hunting just like our ancestors did (but with WAY better weapons!) And hunting is a way to connect with those loved ones that have passed on. Besides, who doesn't feel at peace while out hunting? But if it were to be turned into a religion, it'd probably have to be some Pagan type ritual thing...

We to Bartlett this morning, there were tons of shad but not many bass busting them. My uncle and I ended up with 15, I caught 11, he got 4. We didn't see any bass on beds, or crappie in the brush.

I've been putting in for 10 years and I've drawn one tag, archery bull in 4B. In that same amount of time, I've had two buddies from Cali pull 3 archery bull tags....

Well, one of my buddies got drawn for 5a archery bull so i guess I'll be able to get my "fix" helping him out. That and hopefully a cow tag. Oh well, just means that can get out scouting for whitetails more this year... Congrats to everyone that drew a tag, and yes, that even means you Dan. Be safe and have fun.

What about Espo's in Chandler? They have the best carnitas I have ever had. Even better than my Grandmas (please don't tell her I said that...). Plus, they have Barq's red cream soda as one of their fountain drinks! Bonus points in my book....

We caught 7 bass, 4 on the bottom and 3 sub-surface. Not much topwater action thought...

Remington 700 in 300 WM shooting 168 TTSX. But, having said that, I'll prolly never get a rifle elk tag... I took my 2010 bull with my old Jennings bow.

I hope they spend millions and millions on these drones. That way, when they get shot down(and they will!), maybe they won't have the budget to spew their lies into mainstream media. These idiots are the same people that kill 95% of the animals in their care because killing those animals is better than having them POSSIBLY mistreated by their owners. Yet, they are the "authority" when it comes to condemning us for the "brutal mistreatment" of animals... Like I've told some members of that idiotic cult before, it is not wise to threaten a group of people that know how to use a firearm and have no problems taking lives.

That's a good tag, you should get into a ton of bulls. I had that tag in 2010 with two of my buddies and we all tagged out. We were into bulls everyday, nothing giant, but I had two chances at two diff 320+ bulls. Find a caller, it'll make your life so much better...

I had that tag in 2010 and had a blast! Two of my friends from Cali got the same tag and we all tagged out. I think we got into to something like 30 bulls. That's an awesome tag, you should have a blast! But see if u can find someone to call for you, it really helps out...

Any elk tag is a good tag. You've got a golden ticket in your pocket, make the most of it. It's never too early to start scouting and every day until opening day is a training day, lol. Congrats and good luck.
