When I tried for a leftover elk tag, the awesome lady at the G&F office, she told me to send it in on the Friday for a Monday first come draw.

Depends on when they put out the leftover list. If it comes out today, then send it in Friday.

I don't know about 70-80 lbs, but I put about 50 lbs in my pack and walk bleachers. I hate every moment of it.

I gut shot a buck in 35B, looked for him for all of one day and some of the next. Never found him. Makes me sick every time I think about it. I WISH I would have found him rotted, I'd have cut the horns off and tagged them. But it taught me to keep shooting until he quits moving. I don't EVER want to experience killing a deer and not recovering him.
