Those 20 by's are the ultimate dream, but I'd hate them climbing up the hills in the am...

Buy nice or buy twice. Start saving your money, Zeiss has some 15x56 HD's coming out in April for $1500-$1600. I've already started saving, hopefully I'll have a pair around my neck come October...

I finally got to take my Kuiu 1850 out for a nice stroll in the desert and it is by far the most comfortable pack I've ever had the pleasure of wearing. The 1850 might be too small for 5-6 day trips, but as a day pack, or a 2-3 day trip, it'd be perfect. And it has a built in load sling that adds 2500 cu for when you tag an animal. http://store.kuiu.com/product-p/60006.htm

I have an old pair of Zeiss 15's. they are 30 years old and still finding deer. Great glass, but not cheap.
-
Go with the Vortex, great glass and an awesome warranty. Heck, see if you can find an old pair of vortex and send them in for a replacement!

This drives me nuts... Sitting in a heated blind 50 yards from a feeder is not hunting. That's just killing. Most of them boys would be waving the white flag on the first hill in Coues country.
-
And my Girlfriend told me just the other day to buy new binos, hehehee... It looks like I'll be replacing my 80's model Zeiss 15's with some HD 15’s!

Great video!

Once you have the frame and suspension, you can buy just a bag in the larger sizes, 5200 and 7200, and change out the bag for whatever you're getting into.

I just got finished emptying out my old hunting pack (sitka flash 20) and organizing my brand new Kuiu Icon 1850 and all I can say is that I just lost 7lbs! The weight savings is amazing! The Icon, fully loaded is lighter that the fully loaded sitka(or $hitka as we call it). AND, there's no need for a pack frame like with the sitka! Everything is very well laid out and it is super comfy, can't wait to put to good use!

From what I've read, it'll work for a 2-3 day backpack. ill be using it as a daypack/meathauler. ill write up a report as soon as i can get away from work and the kids. i thought i was able to do what i wanted to do on my bday? lok

Idk about you guys, but when i listen to hard rock before a glassing session, i tend to glass way too fast. i like a good Beethoven, keeps me calm and focused behind the nocs.
-
Yeah, this one comes in at 4.5 lbs empty for the full kit. i have it fully loaded and i still can't believe that i haven't forgotten anything and that i don't have to put it on a pack frame! As for the price, with all of the gift cards i got for xmas and my bday, i got paid $35 to take it! talk about a smoking deal!
-
Do it! you won't be disappointed!
-
Is that the empty weight?
-
No on the scabbard. I've heard of people adding one but doesn't come with one. The carbon fiber frame has load lifters that stick up so your rifle won't slide off your shoulder.

And as a side note, I have never experienced such outstanding customer service as I did when I called customer service for Kuiu. The wonderful young lady that took my order, Alicia, and Charlie, whom I dealt with about my credit card issues (desert school...) went far above and beyond their duties to make me one extremely satisfied customer. If you're in the market for the best ultralight hunting gear money can buy, and some of, if not thee best customer service in the industry, go to Kuiu.com and DO YOUR RESEARCH. P.s. And no, I'm not on their payroll, just a very happy customer paying it forward to like minded outdoorsman/outdoors women.

I think they'd be just fine glass wise, but I'm not a fan of the small field of view at 1000 yards.

What year are these?
-
These are exactly what I have, man, i wish I had an extra $1200 layin around...
-
It was rifle, I snuck to 81 yards and put the hurt on a buck with my late fathers 300 WM.

It was a great year, hunting wise at least... I tagged my bull and put the smack down on a WT all by my lonesome. Filling two tags in one year was one of the high points in my hunting career. So far.... Congrats on the baby boy khmer6!
-
Wow!! Hahaha. Yeah, my thoughts exactly... My daughter was due mid September in 2010 but I put in anyways cuz at that point I was 0 for 6 for elk. Of course that was the year I got my first elk tag, lol. I somehow managed to not miss her birth AND tag a bull, hoping for the same luck this year!
-
My one and only sister is planning a wedding for early to mid September and I was asked to be a groomsmen. Wanna know how I know I'll be drawn for elk this year?

The Goliath Tiger Fish is on my all time bucket list of fish I must catch before I die. I am so dang jealous of you. Congrats on your catch, I'm going to go and yell outside now for a while.
