Hunting is an amazing tool for self-discovery, but only if you recognize it for what it is, and not for what it is portrayed through the tv shows and commercials. It is a vehicle to find or recognize the real "you". It's not about all the buying of stuff that makes you a better hunter, it's about you finally realizing that you aren't at war with the world around you, but placing yourself right in the middle of that world as a giver and taker of life. Oh, they'll love that! i have a neighbor with a yappie dog, the dang thing would yap all night. A few EARLY mornings of bugling like a rut crazed bull solved that problem, lol (i wake up at 1am for work). Really helped me get the chuckle down pat.

I have the Carlton and the Mossback Widow maker reed calls around my neck and a Carlton cow/calf diaphragm in my mouth when out chasing bulls. i practice with the diaphragm calls until everyone in my family threatens my life, then i practice in my truck, lol.

Ive looked thru a lot of Vortex and its the brand I steer new hunters towards for their first set of nocs. Having said that, although Vortex has great glass for the money, Zeiss is still on another level. Look thru them both, side by side, and see which one works best for your eyes.

I got to look thru the kaibab 20's today and I must say I was impressed. Great glass for the price but I don't like the smaller field of view at 1000. I'm still all in for the new Zeiss!
