The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not. lol, the other funny thing about science is that it always changes. just when they tell you know have it down, somebody else comes up with a new theory and debunks the old one. i just can't come to grips that there is no God, and what's more, I know for sure there is a devil. There is so much pure and unadulterated evil in the world it's crazy. You don't have to look far to see the devil. And if there is a devil, there better be a God out there somewhere. That's because science never stops. New technologies come out that allow for different research, which changes what we thought we knew. The quest for knowledge never stops. Look at what we use for hunting, I'm sure it's more than a little bit different than what our grandfathers and fathers used. Now think about what our great-great grandfathers used. What we think of as commonplace would have been like an alien artifact 75 years ago. Range finding binos? A range finding scope that adjusts the crosshairs for the distance automatically? Carbon composite bows that launch arrows at +300 fps? Carbon fiber park frames that can handle more than I can carry yet weight a fraction of what my 6 yo packframe weights? All science. And the scientists are not finished yet. In 75 years, all of our stuff will be antiquated. Just imagine what else science will give us in the next few years.

And here I was thinking I was the only one...

^^^^was just about to say that...

I not only prohibit religious talk, but also my own atheist views. I don't want them swayed in either direction until they are ready. If they start asking questions, we'll discuss it at that time. But until then, I want all parties to stay away.

I've never heard of them before. I'll check them out.

I wish more people shared this sentiment...

I hope you don't mind some unsolicited advice, and it's meant in the most respectful way possible, but as a guy who was once a child of divorced parents who had different religious viewpoints, I'd encourage you to listen to the kids and let the kids make the choice on their own. Maybe that's what you're already doing, but I would suggest against a blanket prohibition based on your own viewpoints on religion. Again, this is totally unsolicited, but just speaking from one father to another and as a person who was once in your kids' shoes. I was once a young kid who wanted to be baptized into a church. My father, who was the non-custodial parent and technically didn't have the legal right to keep me from doing it, was against it. The church, recognizing that even though the parent with primary physical custody technically has the legal right to determine religious instruction, concluded that I should not move forward without my father's blessing. It was a sincere desire on my part, and I was making the decision on my own, without any prompting from my mother (there is a difference between prompting and support). The whole situation caused me a lot of pain, and it wasn't really fair for my father to put me through that simply because he hated religion. It was just one more trial that I had to go through as a kid because my parents decided that divorce was better than toughing it out. Looking back on it, I think it was a combination of his hate of religion and a way to continue to exert control over our lives, but it damaged our relationship for a long time. Thankfully for him, it was the very religious instruction that he despised that taught me how important it is to forgive and show love and respect. That's basically what I'm doing. The only thing I'm prohibiting is a "brainwashing" of my kids before they know any better. My son is 5 and my daughter is 3. I want to wait until they are older before we have any religious discussions. But at the same time, I want them to have a somewhat clean slate when that time comes and I don't want a step-grand parent ruining that for his own satisfaction. I'm not against religion, I think it's a wonderful thing for literally BILLIONS of people, but it doesn't work for everyone and i am one of those that it doesnt work for. I find it too controlling and restrictive to a young mind that has a thrist for knowledge like I had and my kids have. (I swear I answer 800,000,000 questions daily...). Basically, I'm not pushing my views on them and I don't want anyone else pushing their views on them either.

I have a similar situation going on right now with my kids. My S.O.'s step father is a former preist and he is trying to get them baptized and in the church. That's not gonna happen. id rather my kids make up their own mind based off of their own research. If religion works for them, great, if not, great. i just want them to do the research and ask questions.

Well, considering that I'm an atheist, id be ok with an in-law being one too. or Christian, or Luthern, or Morman, or whatever . as long as they are good people and are good to my kids, who cares what their religious beliefs may be.

My brother and I went 2 weeks ago and caught 4, one went 4 lbs, 2 on albino zoom flukes, and 2 drop-shotting pumpkin chartchuse lizards. I only had the lizard 5" above the sinker. Honestly, if you have a float tube or something, fishing the backs of all the cattails in Boulder Creek should prolly yield some nice bass...

Everywhere I hunt has that danged cat claw... Mine have held up pretty darn good, I've had my original pair for around 4 years and they still are GTG. They have some pulls, but no tears. I even took a bad fall last year and they didn't tear. The skin on my knee did, but the pants didnt. And, as I've stated before, they are the most comfortable pants I own, hunting or otherwise.

I was just worried about possibly getting sweaty in them and getting then wet on the inside. The description doesn't really say much on the kuiu site. The Tiberons look pretty awesome for summer time. Wanted to maybe try and get something I could use for summer and fall/winter though. Obviously paired with a base layer underneath if needed for colder temps. Even IF you get them soaked with sweat, they dry out quick, fast, and in a hurry! The blogs are a great source of info for all the technical specs on everything Kuiu. And they have a GREAT customer service dept if you have questions about something the blogs don't cover. Or shoot me a PM, OBVIOUSLY I try to keep up to date on Kuiu gear, lol.

Not matter what you wear, it's gonna be hot come archery deer season. But the Attack pant isn't too hot and the newer models have hip zippers to dump body heat and moisture. With a base layer underneath, you'll stay toasty behind the binos.
-
You could make a cup outta the attack pant and drink water out of it. when i first got mine, i plugged up my sink with them and turned the water on. the water was still pooled there 30 mins later and wasn't wet inside. the zip tees are not water proof though. they did come out with the Tiberon line too for summer. i don't have any of that stuff though....... Yet

Well where's the dang pics?!?!

Are you serious? On a hunting forum, a Coues hunting forum full of very passionate Coues Crazy Outdoorsmen, you are bragging about getting away with taking a 117" non tip under questionable circumstances, and then telling everyone on here that you had your daddy pay your way out of it?

ya, its money dude. tons of 4-5lbers. just watch out for the indian cops. It was top notch a couple years ago and probably still holds plenty of fish, but they did fill in a good portion of previously non-wadable water within the last couple years. I fished it a long time ago and it was the best fishing in the state! i caught several 4-5 pounders on sinkos and lizards. And i usually caught a good catfish or two. i haven't been back in there in forever, but every time i drive over i think about going ninja style and trying it again...

Anybody ever fish the river bottom under the 202?
-
I was there right at first light that time, but I fished it in broad daylight most of the time. I was 18 to present day (Allegedly... ) and all they had/have was an older guy on a golf cart. Thats no match for a man on foot. It honestly is/was part of the excitement....

My Father and my Uncles got arrested a few times for fishing in the Phx Zoo. And the story goes that there was an escaped gator that fell for a junebug Gitter bug....
