Another vote for the swingblade or swingblaze and flip n zip, both have made my cleaning/skinning jobs easier. Just an FYI, you can send them in for free sharpening for life.

Just a couple things unions made possible that people take for granted, daily: 8 hour work days, 40 hour work weeks, weekends, child labor laws, OSHA, minimum wage and whole lot more all brought to you from UNIONS!!!!! So if you think unions are the enemy, you are wrong. That is living breathing proof unions don’t just fight for union members. Our entire country benefits from unions and has for hundreds of years. Guess the unions need to do a little more on my part - 12 hour days and 48 hour work week every other week. Not that I'm knocking them - just saying -
You could start a forest fire with all that wood! Nice bull.

Heck, there's not that much activity at my house.

Nice looking buck.

Agreed, aging should be done at refrigerated temperatures - 3 days for every 100lbs.

Now that is one heck of a cool idea - goats. What kind of goats are those and where can I get one - and how much?

Lunch time is better that having to pinch one off time!

Nothing worse than having to pack them out of rough country, nice when it works out to your advantage.

Nice buck.

That's a skyscraper there.

I start with a small square of rag wrapped around my brush and sprayed with oil. Then pass through the bore from the breach end out 10 times. Then put a clean patch on the brush and push it through so 1/2 is sticking out the end of the barrel and coat it with bore cleaner. Then pass through 10 more times. Then a clean patch on the brush and pass more 10 times, then a patch on the brush coated with oil 10 more times. I repeat the clean dry patch and the oil patch until the bore is clear. I end on an oil patch (for longer storage).

Trailer didn't help me much, my trailer came unhitched from the ball (turned out to be the threaded rod needed tightening) when I tried to drive up. It sent me and the bike backwards - natural instinct was to give it gas, drove right off the end of the trailer. Funny part is before riding up on the trailer I jumped up and down on that thing to make sure it was seated properly.

Can't ask for much better on short trips.

BEST meat processor......walk to your kitchen look at the knife block or the knife drawer.....there you have it the best meat processors in the state without question. why? you know exactly how long it is aged(hung at 40 degrees F, up to 30 days if you pay attention), you know it didn't hang laying against someone else's elk that maybe did take as good of care to keep it clean, you know exactly what it looked like as it is being cut up, you know exactly how much waste there is, you can remove all the sinew and fat if you like, you can package it exactly like you need, you can custom mix the burger (pork shoulder at 20% is a starting place), you can basically make the best darn meat on the planet. As good as any meat processor might be they will never care for your meat as well as you can. +1

I bought both the DCA and the DCB II for a Swarovski 80mm and found the following issues. First the DCA is for a DSLR so it may not apply to you, but in case you decide to go this route, here's some info. The camera I'm using this for is a Nikon D7000 and the pictures come out very good, the problem is the weight of the camera. Even with the spotting scope rail, the camera is too heavy and I had to add a second rail. This makes the unit very awkard to use and heavy. The other problem with this setup is with it being so heavy you lose what you were originally aiming for and have to find it again once the camera is mounted. Since this camera doesn't have a tilting LCD screen it is very difficult in bright light to find your subject. The DCB II is very nice and easy to use since the camera is permanently mounted, the weight doesn't change so you don't lose the subject as easily. But there are drawbacks to this as well. I noticed that the image is a lot worse than with the DSLR, but it is viewable and captures the subject a lot easier. The other drawback is that most point and shoots don't have a shutter cable, this makes for camera shake when pushing the shutter which can be very annoying during vidoes and blurry images on photos. I've seen where people have made a bracket that will hold an old style shutter cable and they glued a pencil eraser to it so it won't damage the shutter button on the camera. Hope this helps Kevin -
I recently wrote a book, and while it's geared more for the novice and not necessarily geared for the experienced hunter, it may be beneficial for those who've been away from the sport for a while. I hope you all enjoy and benefit even a small amount from it. I'm not a writer by profession, but thought I'd give it a try. I've wanted to write a book since I was a kid and finally got it done. Here's a few links to where you can pick it up if you wish. It's primarily based on Coues deer, but I also included some Muley info. www.lulu.com/mediabyKevinG http://www.barnesand...nter/1016993652 http://www.amazon.co...nt to hunt deer I Hope that you all like it!
