It boils down to will you be more satisfied looking at a buck on your wall you found and killed or one that was pointed out for you to shoot.

Go to walmart and get the small rapala olive colored jerk bait. You could also get some crappie jigs and run them about 24 inch's under a clear water bubble. Adjust the line length until you get bit. The white marabou jigs work well there.

So a 15 year old will appreciate it more than a 13 year old. That kid is going to have some memories that will last him his lifetime not sitting around waiting to get drawn if ever.

I have made my comments to the game and fish. This has been one of my favorite hunts for my Grandkids. My grandson drew this the last 2 years and did not draw this year. He has taken a decent 3 point and a small fork horn along with a companion Javelina on this hunt. It has worked out great because he is out of school and can hunt anytime I get free time during his hunts. Our youth are our future and it's a shame that the game and fish fight this hunt every few years. I have helped other family's that have had this tag and the kids are always excited and really enjoy the hunt. It would be appreciated if we could get the Coues Whitetail family behind this hunt and send in your comments supporting it. You don't have to attend anything. I know there are several members on here who's kids have had this hunt and if any have it in the future feel free to contact me and I will help with the hunt as much as i can. Come on guy's all it takes is few minutes to send a message.

Blackhorn 209 is the easiest for you as you will be able to shoot more with less cleaning. My grandson at 12 years old can load his own muzzle loader using speed loaders with the Blackhorn powder.
