  1. I ran into that with my grand daughter. I did not look into it any more as I just applied for hunts that fell after her birthday.

I think I will just stay home. I don't have enough feelings to be crushed that many times.

    2018 Elk Draw Odds

Delw, Since 80 percent of the draw go to random draw you would have the basic same chance as anyone else to draw random tags. Since you put in unit 8 there were 160 random tags so you drawing tags is not that much of a stretch. My wife with zero points drew unit 10 4 years ago and we both drew this year with 4 points. But all you have to do is look at the point draw charts and it will show you what point numbers the 40 bonus tags went to. I always hope my luck does not suck bad enough to wait all the way to max points. With the hunts I put in for it should not.

    2018 Elk Draw Odds

Since the 10 percent cap does not apply to you it would allow for you to receive the tag in your scenario. From page 12 of the regs. Lifetime License Holders- If a lifetime license holder changes residency status from Arizona, the licensee must then purchase non-resident stamps, tags, and permits. A non-resident tag or stamp can accompany your lifetime resident license. If you are a lifetime license holder who has moved out of state, the 10 percent non-resident cap does not apply to you. The lifetime license will remain legal for the taking of all wildlife as permitted by law. Residency may be re-established after moving back to Arizona and meeting the required time period as defined below.

    How bout them Devils!

I would think it really didn't matter what school those folks went to they were going to be sports stars. Their athletic ability did more for them than the school they went to.

    Unit 32 Questions

Go to myfree topo's on line and search the unit. Onx maps for your laptop and phone are an excellent tool also. Flatline maps make a good unit map if they have a 32 map. I believe they have them at sportsmans.
  10. Next full moon not until 1st week of Jan I believe. I think the first week of Jan should be a good one. Just looked Jan 1st full moon.

    Jojo's last day buck

Nice buck congrats to the young hunter and to Dad getting him out there.
  17. Not really just go hit the roads around greer and big lake. There are little forkies all over those roads. I would just about bet you can hand anyone a bow that can draw it and they can hit at 12 yards within a few shots. The question said 12 yards not 20 or 30 yards. Now that would be a challenge with a long or recurve bow. Just look on this site how many new bows are sold each year as soon as the elk season is over. Most of these guys only buy a bow if they get drawn and then resale until they get drawn again. Now if were talking seasoned hunters good in their craft it takes practice at both sports to be efficient 1 shot killers. We both know that there are guys in both sports that get lucky and there are guys that practice and take their chosen sport very serious.
  18. Ok flatlander you are correct. I also know several folks that grabbed a recurve bow drove around and killed several deer over the years it works both ways. I talk to guys all the time that have not shot their bow besides 3 days to the hunt. I am a bow hunter first I shoot year round. I do rifle hunt on occasion but will not shoot long range unless I have practiced and long to me is 500 yards.
