So the world is not ending? This topic was misleading. Maybe harness all the tears for the fish and refill the lake? Refill the lake with what? Have you seen big rain or snow pack above the Lake that no one else has? They are not going to stop the drop until they hit their mark. The spawn this year will take a hit. With just this weekends weather there will be a big push to the bank for the spawn those fish will loose their eggs this year. Hopefully we can get a big monsoon year this year and it will only be 1 year age class loss.

I had a 22s late bull a few years ago and killed a small raghorn spot and stalk as he was feeding thru a cactus patch. It was kinda weird hunting them in the cactus country.

Onx maps on your phone or tablet can save you a lot of headaches. In use with a flatline map it can make life a lot easier.

It is really not drama it is the blatant ignoring of the civilians by the Government entity once again. And yes 9 feet at this lake or any other lake this time of year is very detrimental to the fish populations that spawn shallow. Thank god they all don't spawn at once but with the water temps and time of year this will hurt the population.

Being so close to flag any real giant bulls will be well known and will have alot of guys on him. I have helped with one hunt and I felt like we were in a foot chase at day light the 3 days I helped. With that said mid week the pressure will lift up somewhat and if the rut is strong you will be able to get on bulls.

Adam you are a Dove freak. But with that said your right I just need to make it down there this year. -
Real wolves would not stand a chance against those washington dc wolves. Those creeps would eat their own young.

I know for elk this year everyone in my camp had to have a permit. I would also get the ranch permit if you draw why limit yourself when it's so tuff to draw a tag.
-
If you have not put in yet with that many points I would not do 7W as a second choice if you want 27. Do 27 and unit 1 with that amount of points.

I use 10x50 swaros around my neck and tripod. Going to start using a spotting scope for closer look. My eyes don't like my 15's.

I am super happy to here she is doing good. I hope She kills a great big pig this weekend, -
We have seen a lot of Javelina but all of them have been in the afternoon. I have not glassed up Javelina on the morning sun slopes all season. they have all been down lower and on the flatter type ridges. Our group is 2 of 6 as of now and have 1 more weekend to get it done.

There is no shortage of pigs in 16a from what I have seen. I saw plenty of sign and pigs. If my grandson would have shot straight it would have been awesome. The biggest thing I have seen in 16a and 18a this season is I have not seen a pig before 11 am and all have been down low on flats and wash's. I can count on one hand how many times I have killed in the afternoon in the last 35 years of pig hunting. We killed 2 so far and the group has missed several shots all late afternoon. 16a Produced 4 different herds and 18a 3 herds with a small herd thrown in in 15. We had shot opportunity everyday but one since the first. I had to go back to work today or would be back out there.

I had a buddy kill one yesterday that looks like that one. I will post picks when I do the skulls. I could not even close her mouth completely she is so old. I think she was slowly starving to death as she had no meat on her bones at all we barely got a zip lock bag full off her.

I just put in where I want to hunt and if I get drawn I go hunt. Not a lot of thought process in my draw process. I still manage a decent elk tag every 3 to 4 years. The wife has drawn 10 archery twice in 5 years. I have had 22 and 10 archery tag in the same time frame with a 18a any elk tag thrown in there. I think for many the whole percent chase is just part of the draw process to help them think they are involved outside of putting in and praying they get drawn. Besides what else would we talk about in here between hunting seasons. Good luck to everyone no matter what your system is I hope the new year brings many tags to everyone.

Youth Application Age - The Unanswerable Question
jim replied to rossislider's topic in Youth Hunters
It was Antelope that I had the issue with as there are no hunts prior to her October Birthday. I put her in for the junior dec deer hunt so it was no issue with deer. I understand why they do this as not everyone will be honest with the law and some will take their kid before their birthday. The odds of being checked in the field are pretty slim.
