I hear you. My cow elk hunt is closing in fast and I have a new rifle I am going to use and I may even change the scope before the season if the new one shows up by then... I have my old reliable dialed in and ready though, just in case. Good luck on your hunt.

I should be up there this weekend scouting. Last year on this hunt there was no snow, and the only place it was muddy was up higher in elevations. I am worried it won't even be real cold this year the way things are looking. Last year the first 3 days barely got above freezing.

let me know if someone backs out on the thunderbolts.

We used to use Ward's for all our equipment repair when I was doing metal buildings. Gas saws, generators, etc. They did chainsaws too.

If I were to buy new I would be looking at 3 options. 1. is a rifle I really liked years ago when. I worked retail gun sales. We had a remington 700 mountain rifle in 7-08 that was sweet. It had been tuned by there custom shop. 2. is probably what i would buy. A CZ 557 or 550 in the caliber of your choice. The cz 527 I picked up recently is AWESOME. the set trigger is sweet as long as your kid has good trigger control. Iron sights at 100 yards on a carbine it will shoot 2 moa. Give me a scope and I bet it would be submoa. 3. tikka in your caliber choice. My choice would be 6.5x55, but I like less common rounds and old school things. The 6.5x55 has been doing everything 6.5cm and 260 Rem have, but it has been doing it for 120 years. If it ain't broke don't fix it... My dad's kimber sporterized mauser in 6.5x55 will be my son's first deer rifle. Sweet gun that shoots well and is light. Harley

Check Sportmans on a regular basis. They have been getting them in from time to time recently.

Harris 13-27" swivel for me. I used it on my elk hunt last year. Prone position on the 13" and it was perfect.

6.5 (pick your flavor) or 7-08. Or a bigger caliber with a brake. They 300 win mag I just had braked darn easy to shoot now.

I am a gringo so I don't venture past trifecta medium. That can be a bit much so we usually order several things mild and 1 thing medium.

I tried to PM you, but either your box is full or something is not working.

Knowing what units the hunts are in might help.

Angry Crab is pretty awesome. Trifecta is the spice to use for sure. Old Bay is good too. Mussels, Crab, & shrimp are the typical go to items for us. We do the Peoria location as it isn't far from our house.

What stamp on the 300 win? I need 3006 and 300 win in remington stamp.

I picked up 2000 there the other day. I left 1000 on the shelf in the single 100 packs. I picked up 210m there a few weeks ago too, but they were single 100 packs.

You got mail. -
The buddy heaters are catalytic heaters that don't have CO2 issues. I would still keep a detector in the trailer in case it malfunctions but you shouldn't need it. It has an onboard "oxygen depletion sensor".

We rented a toyhauler last year for the late elk hunt and we went without water. It was well below freezing at night and the first few days only barely got above freezing. We bought a bunch of bottled water and just used it to keep the toilet full and used it to flush, and did dishes with it. Heat up water on the stove and bath that way. Not the best clean, but still cleaner. It was great for the heater and dry warm place to sleep.

There is some private land over that way near cleator so be careful. There are deer there for sure though. We ran a good size buck out of there a few years ago. Get high and glass. I grew up with my dad hunting 20a so I have a soft spot for it. It is a tough area though. -
I went to North High...It was that or Alhambra High. Not sure which choice is worse, but those were the only 2 choices.

Vortex 6x24x50 FFP Viper HSLR is on order! I picked up some Berger 210 HVLD's today and also managed to find GM215M primers to match them with!!! I picked up 2 boxes. This build is coming together!!! -
I was inline this morning when the polls opened. I am not optimistic that Trump will win, but I did what I can do.

I almost went to mechanics school, but this is the reason I didnt. A family friend was a mechanic and he had lots of projects. He rarely had a finished drive able project.
