I have started carrying copies of all my hunting buddies licenses when we go to the field. Inevitably someone forgets it or can't find it. Sign the copy I have in my wallet, and you are good to go...

No, weatherby vanguard on one, and savage 110 on the other.

I am not a trigger guru, but I see the difference. I moved from factory adjustable triggers to basic Timney in 3 rifles now. It is a world of difference. I did get to touch the trigger on a couple of Lances rifles while back, and I can tell you they are even better than the basic Timney I have. The 8oz ones are crazy light, but dang they are nice.

Just a word of thought about those 2 things. A DJ can make or break your reception. A good one will help you put on a party your family won't forget, a bad one will have people headed for the doors early trying to GTFO. Same with pictures. Those are the memories you will have forever, long after the wedding is over. Get a good one. I am not saying overpay, but don't be cheap. Get good ones. You can ask anyone who was at my wedding almost 10 years ago how it was and they will tell you it was a great time. Alot of that was good preparation, but a bad DJ would have killed the whole experience.

There are a lot of good builders locally, and even more if you include the whole state. What are you looking for, and where are you located?

For some reason people think it is smart to put valuables in the freezer thinking thieves won't look there. It sucks to hear they got robbed. it happened at my house when I was about 10 or 11. I was the one who found it. Tweakers broke in through a window and stole a bunch of stuff. It is a crappy feeling for sure.

Can a muzzle brake be too big? I have a buddy that has had shoulder surgery and wants to put a big brake on his .308 Win with heavy barrel. Will a one of the large "magnum" muzzle brakes give any more reduction in recoil vs something designed for more standard calibers like 308? I have a 300 Win Mag that Axisworks put a big 5 Port Piercision Muscle brake on, and it works great. Would that same brake be overkill for the 308 vs a smaller brake? Harley

By small hook, what are we talking about roughly? I picked up some 6,8,&10's today at Sportsmans Warehouse just to get a little variety.

Point the tip on that thing and you could have a dual purpose muzzle brake/bayonet/tree saw.

I was just about to mention those Hornady at sportsmans. 55gr SP. $30 for 50 rounds. They shoot pretty well out of my mini-14, for as good as a mini-14 can shoot them... -
I have the CTS in my truck and really like it. I have the expansion pack so I can monitor EGT's, and it is very nice to have 5 gauges in 1 place instead of a bunch of different gauges.

I make my 257 weatherby brass from Remington 7mm Rem mag brass. I lose cases to loose primer pockets too, and occasionally a cracked neck. My guess is about 6-8 firings. -
I like tikka and they make 6.5x55 if I am not mistaken that would be a great option if you hand load. The one thing I don't like about tikka is that you can not top load the gun. It all has to be through the magazine. That is a personal thing though.

You are going to love it.

You can't go wrong with most anything 6.5 and larger for a single all around gun. I think .243 is very marginal for elk especially with a young shooter. A 6.5 creedmoor is honestly what I would lean toward for a newer shooter for a nice easy off the shelf gun that may not need a brake. If you are willing to brake a rifle you can advance much higher in the power spectrum right away.

Vortex Viper HS LR, 6-24x50mm, FFP XLR MOA, switchview and lo pro bubble level

This is a nice scope. I have the same one on my budget minded 300 Win mag long range build. I am really enjoying the scope. That is a nice price too especially since you have the level included. -

Please welcome AxisWorks LLC as our newest sponsor!
Hoss50 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sponsor Spotlight
Glad he is a sponsor now so he doesn't have to work under cover anymore. Eric did 2 muzzle brakes for me and they both turned out great. I am probably dropping off another rifle soon to get a brake installed so I can start shooting it too. Eric installed a giant 5 port slabbed muzzle brake on my 300 Win Mag, and it tamed the rifle down ALOT. It is a joy to shoot now. -
7mm Rem Mag Memorial Build

Don't fix it if it isn't broken. I can't group like that at 300 yards, let alone 800. That doesn't look broken to me... -
7-08 or something larger with brake.

Wow. Good deal on a great piece. If I hadn't bought an expensive knife last year I would jump on this.

You really should look at and handle a CZ before you get a ruger if you can find one IMO. I think you will be surprised at the CZ especially if you are looking for a 98 style action.

Coconino map is available on the forest services website and is helpful.
