What height, if low or medium I will take them.

My younger son is Gung ho on hunting and wants to get himself a laser rangefinder for his gear. He is running on a budget of about $200-250 roughly. What is out there and what has good performance and warranty? I have a Sig 2200 and like it alot, but I have heard Sigs warranty sucks. Mine is starting to act up and I am sure Sig will tell me I am SOL because I am outside the 5yr warranty. I am seeing the Vortex 1800 on sale at Sportsman's for $260 and a Leupold 1400 for $199. Thoughts or suggestions?

My 8yr old shot his new Sauer 100 in 6.5 PRC today. With Axisworks thin profile 4 port brake for the 1/2×28 thread the rifle basically had next to no recoil. My buddies 11yr daughter shot it too without issue. Axisworks brakes seriously kill recoil!

I have several from Axisworks and love them. He just did the 6.5prc my son got for Christmas. The big 5 port I got from him for my other son is big but WORKS. my recoil shy 11yr old can shoot my 300 win mag. Even the smaller brakes work great too. My 8yr old isn't recoil shy and was shooting my 338 win mag at the range the other day.

I have 202 of the 208gr ELDM 30 cal bullets for sale. $80 for all. 200 are the same lot number unopened. I paid $43 plus tax per 100/box. I am in north Phoenix, but work near the airport and travel all over town.

Nobody shoots 208gr ELDM?

Zeiss 15x56 Conquest binos for sale-SOLD
Hoss50 replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in Classified Ads
Wish I had an extra grand laying around. Nice binos. -
Has anyone seen any good deals or have recommendations for good starter binoculars for kids? My almost 9yr old is wanting his own bino pack and binos for Christmas. I like the 8x42 and 10x42 Diamondbacks from Vortex because of the warranty and clarity for the price. I see that Sportsman's has the 10x for $130. Any other recommendations or have you seen any other great Xmas deals out there? I see Sportsman's has some Leupolds for similar pricing, but haven't used them or laid hands on them yet.

The little turd is going to have a nice Xmas. He is going to end up with Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42 binos and a marsupialgear.com chest case. He is going to have to earn the rangefinder and rangefinder add on pack from marsupial. At least now I will be able to get my 8x42 binos back that he stole from me when he started going hunting with us. Sadly mine are the Non HD versions so he will still have better gear than me...😫🤣

That is one of the best looking pistols ever produced IMO! GLWS

Tell him not to finance his life to the tool trucks. Buy the specific tools he needs, not all the crap he doesn't. With the internet for research you can often find out who is building some of the Snap-On stuff for them and buy basically the same stuff cheaper somewhere else. Some stuff will have to come off the trucks if he really is going to make his living with tools, but owing the trucks $$$ forever isn't the best answer sometimes.

I just saw this in person at his office and it is a nice piece. If I needed an AR10 I would have bought it for sure.

I will at some point. The bino harness is going to be from Santa though, so I can't take him til later. I will probably run over there this week. I recieved a Marsupial harness as a gift, but need the XL chest straps for myself since I am slightly larger than the normal human. 🤣
-
He also wants all the stuff to fill it. Binos, rangefinder, calls, etc. He is going to be expensive this year. He doesn't know it buy is also getting his first rifle for Xmas. He is Gung ho on hunting though so I can't complain to much.

He saw the guides 3 pouch marsupial gear chest harness on my sandhill hunt and now has to have one. I always use the normal cheap chest straps. My not even 9yr old wants and will probably get better gear than I have!

I paid $55/lb plus tax last time I found H1000 on the shelf a few months ago so you aren't being out of line.

If he is interested in HVAC construction work let me know. I have customers who are always looking for dependable trainable help.

I can't believe this hasn't sold. I wish I needed a cannon, but I just don't.

Mine is still somewhat in the planning stage but right now has this current plan. Savage 110 long action. (Currently a 300WM) Shaw 20" SS fluted barrel heavy mag contour threaded 5/8"x24 for a suppressor. (Ordered) Bell & Carlson stock (may change) Scope, rings, bases (TBD)
-
That's awesome! What are the details on the build?
-
I am looking at 1 on Bell & Carlson, but we will see what wlse is out there. I am going to wait a little to pull the trigger on that. The barrel is 12 weeks out so I have a little time.
-
Well I am committed now. I ordered the barrel from Shaw today because they are 30% off for black Friday. I also found Hornady brass at Bruno's and some bullets too. Now I need a stock for a savage 110 and a non-magnum bolt face.

Shaw Barrels are 30% off for 1 more day.

Sandhill Info, Guide, Direction?
Hoss50 posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
My son, my best buddy, and I drew sandhill tags for one of the 30a,30b, etc hunt. I am told a guide is a huge help, but I have tried reaching out to several guides, and they are either no guiding anymore, won't call me back, or don't have availability. If I have to go at this DIY, what do I need? A blind and some decoys I assume. What else? Do you have any guide recommendations that are not crazy expensive? I already rented an Air BnB, and will take care of my own food and such. Thoughts?
