You have to do your home work and your maintenance. My last truck was a 98.5 Dodge Cummins 5.9l. I put 225k on that truck with almost no mechanical problems except a clutch, and a couple minor repairs. My current 2005 Dodge Cummins has 217k miles. It has had a clutch, injectors, unit bearings, and a driveline rebuild. Other than that it has only had small repairs and maintenance. The transmissions and injectors are the expensive things. With good care you can avoid injectors alot of times. I bough my truck used with 140K though so the injectors were already basically shot. With a manual transmission a clutch bull is about 1/3 the price of an automatic transmission rebuild. I love my Dodge Cummins trucks. I change my oil every 10,000 miles or so, keep the filters clean, and run them. They get 16-19mpg also, try that with a gas motor in a 3/4 ton plus truck. That said I am avoiding anything newer than 2007 because of all the emissions crap they added.

I have had good success with group size with 208gr ELD-M bullets in a factory Savage 300 win mag. It did ok with the 210 Berger HVLD's but the 208 ELDM showed a lot more promise. That was with H-1000 powder, GM215's, Nosler brass.

When my injectors went bad they presented as excessive fuel bypass. The computer measures how much fuel gets sent to through the return line, at a certain condition. If more fuel gets sent back then is supposed to it sets off codes which are different then what you have. We tried tightening the injector crossover tubes which helped, but didn't cure the problem. Hense the new injectors. I like my +60HP injectors, but when you pair them with a stock exhaust your EGT's get hot when towing. Also when I turn my SMARTY programmer up it smokes. The higher the number, the higher the smoke. If you get to like 7-9 setting it smokes like a freight train when you are getting after it. Even on low settings it can smoke pretty hard if you are in low boost situations. Your problem seems to be more of an electrical failure in the wiring harness or possibly the injector head.

Also make sure if you have them do all new injectors that you have them adjust all the valves while they are in there.

Do you plan to keep the truck? First have a mechanic test to see if the wiring harness that runs the injectors is bad. If the injectors are bad, and you are going to keep the truck, read below. If so, replace ALL 6 injectors, and replace them with 100% BRAND NEW not remanufacturered injectors. Also add in a new super fine fuel filter setup to keep the crap out of the injectors. The factory filter is not good enough. Also replace your crossover tubes when you replace the injectors. This will be an expensive job, but will be worth it if you plan to keep the truck. Make sure you use the correct injectors for your year. They used 2 different injector spray angles during the 03-07 dodge motors. The 03-04 trucks used one, the later trucks used a different spray angle. I installed engineered diesel's +60HP injectors that were built on brand new Bosch bodies in my 2005 when mine went bad. If I had a do over I would have went 100% stock injectors. http://engineered-diesel.com/complete-injector-service-kit-torquemaster-injector-set-oem-install-kit-5-9l-cummins-2004-5-2007 if you use the link below this make sure you add the crossover tubes to your order. https://www.dieselautopower.com/brand-new-genuine-oe-injector-124-late-0445120238 Here is a write up to the DIY fuel filter setup I pieced together and put on my truck. https://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-non-powertrain/1204577-70-diy-2-micron-fuel-filter-kit.html

Grand Canyon to make second run at corralling bison herd
Hoss50 replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
So horses are protected and bison are not. We can't corral and ship of the horses that are destroying the land, but bison is all good. -
Thoughts on clamp on muzzle brake?
Hoss50 replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If it shoots 3/4moa keep it. Eric @AxisWorks LLC recently threaded, installed a brake, and cerakoted it for me. Great work. This is the 3rd rifle he has done this too for me. 2 of those rifles were factory sporter barrels. One was a 3006, and the other a 300 weatherby mag. Recoil difference is night and day. I can actually shoot the 300 weatherby with getting abused. Eric has different brakes in stock alot of times, or can get them quick. He used a 3 port on both the sporter weight barrels. -
Listen for the bulls. If they are still putting out bugles go to them they are either with cows or chasing them. Get high and glass. 6a and 5BS both hold lots of elk.

Who's getting excited for dove season?

Your son was out there slaying yesterday. He was still shooting when I left. I think he was ankle deep in spent shells when I left! -

2 rules in life. I don't sell guns or tools. I do sell air conditioners for a living though so I guess I should sell more of those.

It should be the MOS. I want this, but dont need it.

My buddy has one that he put Bushnells A17 specific scope on. It does pretty well for a small round.

My work does a customer and salesman trip every year to Picabo Idaho to do a fly fishing trip. This year I was fortunate enough to be able to get the opportunity to go. I took 2 clients up with our group of about 12 clients and spent 2 days learning to fly fish near Picabo. It was an amazing experience. I arrived with no idea how to fly fish, and left with a some new skills to work on, and alot of good memories. Neither of my clients had fly fished before either and they left with the same experience. We were guided by the staff of the Picabo Angler and they were top notch. Very patient and helped teach us alot in a short period of time. I worked with Nick and Zac and both were excellent. The first day I reeled in 5 trout including a 22" brown! Day 2 took us up to a river with smaller fish, but more of them. I hooked into 14 fish that day with plenty more missed opportunities. If you are looking for a place to go have fun, check out Picabo and the Picabo Angler.

BFG recently released the AT's with a harder compound for the heavier trucks. I think that is what is going on my truck next.

Just a shot to see if anyone has any they are looking to get rid of before I buy them new. I am a bigger guy with a 44" waist. Let me know if you have anything. I am looking for something on the nicer side if possible. Just a shot in the dark. Thanks for looking.

That's cool. I used to work at that AZ Sportsmans many years ago. Crap pay but it was a job I enjoyed. Thanks for the tip. I normally use my old contractors bags from my days on the jobsites, but they are pretty beat up.
