Temp stable powder for a 7-08?

If the magnetospeed was attached that could cause the group size change possibly. For powder I am going to start working with 6.5 staball in my sons 7mm-08. It is supposed to be less temp sensitive and good in this size case. I have a couple pounds of Varget too of the 6.5 staball doesn't work out. 6.5 staball is way easier to find the Varget though which is why I want to try it first.

    Shotgun Opinions

I am thinking about upgrading my dove/do all shotgun but don't know alot about what is good anymore. I am looking for an auto loader 12ga probably. I love the look of the old A5 and have thought about that, but they are $$$. At the same time I use my shotgun more than any other gun so spending money on one is probably something I should do. What is a good auto loader that would be a good dove gun, but capable of Turkey, pheasant, goose, etc. I shoot my dad old Winchester, but it is only a 2.75" chamber so Turkey and stuff is out for it. What do you shoot? What has good longevity? I have no real experience with inertia guns, are they worth it and reliable?

    Scope question

What budget? I bought a Bushnell AR optic LPVO 1-6x for an AR and put it in a burris QD cantilever mount. It isn't fully sited in yet, but that did not stop it from cracking a 18" steel plate at 500 yards over and over. It has a hold over reticle setup for 223/556. https://www.bushnell.com/riflescopes/view-all-riflescopes/ar-optics-1-6x24-illuminated-riflescope/BU-AR71624I.html

Ditch the 30mm rings. It will cost you more money for 30mm scopes and most 30mm scopes have more complicated reticles.

Keep it something that doesn't need parallax adjustment. 3x9 or some 4x12. I personally like Leupold with a simple hold over reticle, but vortex or burris are good choices too.

    Arken Scopes?

Before I posted this I ordered a ELP 4X16 version, but I figured I might as well ask to see if anyone had them though just for fun. It is supposed to arrive in about 6 weeks so I will see more then.

    7 West Elk Hunt

Yes, hunt it. It is a good unit. I am sure that some on here will be able to help. I have not hunted 7W personally for elk, but know it is a good opportunity. I have hunted 7E several times which is just across the highway. That area holds a fair amount of elk. There are road restrictions, but if you down an elk you are allowed to go offroad to get closer to it in that unit from what I remember from hunting 7E.

    rem 700

Timney is here bn in North Phoenix. You can walk right in and buy a trigger direct. I bought one for a weatherby Vanguard. It was actually cheaper than all the online prices. Take cash as they give you a little better price.

    Hunters Safety Field Day

Can more people please email AZGFD about getting more hunters safety course field days on the calendar for Maricopa County. If we all reach out maybe we will be heard. I just finished sending them a politely frustrated email about not having any courses locally and having to drive to Tucson or farther to get my son in a class before his Javelina hunt and elk draw are due. Tucson has 3 courses available online, but Maricopa county only has 2... Come on, we need better. Maybe they need to explore the idea of letting a 3rd party entity put on the course for a fee. I would gladly pay $50 or $100 to have my son do the class locally instead of having to drive to Tucson or farther to get a course. I will spend $100 in diesel fuel to get to the Tucson course plus spend 4-5 hours in the truck driving there an back... Here is the email address if you need it. azhuntereducation@azgfd.gov

    Hunters Safety Field Day

Ya, they told me that also. I really would like him to have his bonus point for hunters ed for the elk draw though. They won't give it to them until they take the field day.

    6A Muzzy hunt question

We had a late hunt a few years ago in the cold in 7E. Temps at night in the teens and highs in the 30-40s like you are talking about. We had water in the trailer for 5 days. The tanks are below the trailer and exposed with no insulation. We bought a roll of duct wrap insulation before we left. When we got camp setup we used the duct wrap to skirt the trailer and block the gap from the trailer to the ground. We kept the heat in the trailer set to the lowest of 55* inside during the day, and a little warmer at night. The water never froze. The year after we were in Kaibab and temps were below freezing at night and the water never froze with no skirting at all. It was just open. It wasn't windy though.

    First Time 23 hunt

My son drew his 1st Turkey tag, he is 10. It will be my second hunt, so neither of us really know alot about Turkey hunting. Any pointers would be appreciated. We drew the May 5th tag in 23.

    Optics for kiddos starting out

I personally use a set of Gen1 Vortex Diamondback 8x42s on my chest for general purpose glassing, and keep a set of 15s in my pack for the distance and glassing sessions.

    Vortex Diamondbacks
  24. I bought a new truck with these on it recently, and changed to larger tires. These tires appear to be very new and have lots of tread. I out about 1000 miles on the tires, and they were probably put on at the dealer before I bought the truck. They are Pathfinder 265/70/17 E rated tires. They retail at Discount for $207 each. I would like to get $500 for the set of 4 tires.
