Lance, You want to split an 8 lber? Harley
-
Do you ever get to the central or west valley? I am interested but getting out to QC doesn't happen often.

When I shoot the barrel out of my 257 weatherby I might rebarrel it to 6.5x257 weatherby. I might build the 6.5-06 ackley for one of my kids too. I like wildcats too and 6.5 is great bullet. I will stay tuned to your variant of the 6.5 you are after.

I know 6.5-06 has already been built which should be basically what you are talking about building so the reamer already exists. It would be finding 1 especially in ackley improved. I have not delved into building mine much yet, but it has always been on my wish list when I actually can build a rifle. Harley

Do it. I have always wanted to build a 6.5-06. I know it can be done and would be a sweet rifle.

More info will probably net you more accurate and more answers. Are you talking .22-50bmg or 5.45x700 nitro? Wildcats are cool in my book, what are you thinking? Harley

I fully plan to take try and take my cow elk with my Blackhawk in 45LC if the opportunity presents itself. I doubt it will but you never know. I will be shooting 300gr Hornady xtp or speer 300gr jsp bullets in it. Harley

The only rifle I crimp in my 45-70 because they have the cannelure and the recoil is pretty nasty on that little gun. I would hate to have a round pull apart or jam in the tube. I doubt it ever would but it isn't worth finding out the hard way. I used to crimp rifle rounds before I knew better, and it isn't hard to over crimp and distort a shoulder on the case and ruin a round. Magnum handgun rounds like .44 mag and heavy .45LC I do crimp though, just not super heavily.

I call it hiking with guns. I have done a fair amount of it unfortunately in my life. I hope to change that with more knowledge and better preparation. I am 0/3 on pigs so far. 1 year doesn't really count though because I missed all but 1 day of the season due to sales meetings....right?
-
I tried that too already and it didn't work. I emailed AZGFD. I am sure it will take 3-5 days to return my email.
-
I got everything put in OK, but when I went to print out the license I bought for a person on my tag it wouldn't open the screen. Now I call AZGFD to try and every time I call in and pick an option it hangs up on me.
-
They do it in front of you. They only opened my suit case with the gun case to swab it. They did not open the gun case itself.
-
The PHX TSA checkpoint for guns is in the ticketing area but behind a screened in area. The ticket clerk takes you and your bag to the TSA guy. He opens the bag swabs for explosives a couple times and if it checks out your all set. They don't open the guncase or ask for keys. I traveled last week with 2 handguns via US Airways/American Airlines out of Terminal 4. Harley

If I hadn't already arranged my buddies 22' hauler I would be interested. It is going to be cold in december in 7 east....

I almost went the camper route too. I decided that a good tent was more than enough for me and bought a Kodiak Flexbox 10x14' tent and I am very happy. I have to many projects and didn't want another thing to do maintenance on so I went the nice tent route and am glad I did. The 6 pack camper posted though is a GREAT deal. Those campers are light and if totally functional it would be a great option too.

I don't know much but I will tell you what I know if you want to PM me about it. -
I am in the market for a new leather or non-fabric sectional couch. Does anyone have any hints as to a good place to get the best value for my money? I am not looking for a cheap couch but also not something that is $6000 either. I want leather or similar because of my dogs and kids. Fabric is harder to clean and harder to get pet hair off of. I am 6'4" though so ikea style junk won't fit me. Suggestions? Thanks Harley

Nice score. I am still looking for the first unicorn. I should have bought some when brunos had it a few months back. Harley

Randalls had 7mm brass last time I was there. Hornady if I remember right. It has been a few weeks though. I have decent amount of 1x or 2x fired 7mm brass if you can't find new. Mixed headstamps. Let me know if you need some.

I bought mine on Amazon. If you have a Fry's in your area with a gas station or a Circle K get gas points and a tent. Buy enough gift cards at Fry's to cover the tent and receive 2x-4x times gas points (depending on the promotion at the time). Now you will get the tent at a cheaper price and rack up a ton of gas rewards points to save money on fuel. Even if you only get 2x the points for a $600 tent you will still get over 1200 points. 1000 points will get you $1.00/gallon off up to 35 gallons, and you will still have another $0.20/gallon off to use another time. Now you have your tent and if you can use the full 35 Gallons you have $35 off your next tank of fuel plus some more on the next tank. I love my 10x14 Deluxe. I only wish I had bought the model with the big windows on the side for camping in the hotter climates so you can get better airflow. Harley

I NEVER use TSA locks. Last time I read the website it said they are a highly encouraged OPTIONAL item. They don't need access to my guns. If they need to get into they case after they inspect it they can find me and I will unlock it. I have flown probably a dozen times without TSA locks and never had a problem. Most of them were pistols in my bag, but I have flown with rifles too and never had an issue. The TSA website does not say anywhere on it that they are required on there traveling with firearms page.

Depending on where you are in the east valley head up to the I-40 through Globe or Payson. Then I-40 to I-25. Avoid Denver during rush hours or take the E-470 around it (toll road). The E-470 is just as fast as trying to go through Denver during rush hour or faster. Stay north of Denver so when you leave town you are going against traffic. I would stay in Loveland or Fort Collins. The drive through Durango and over Wolf Creek pass past Pagosa Springs is a lot more scenic but it is a lot of 2 lane mountain roads and a lot more reservations. More room for issues. If you are not on a deadline or time crunch absolutely go this way. If you need to be somewhere by a specific time and date you are gambling more to go this way. Harley

This is my 3.5 year old last weekend "looking for animals". We are still working out the kinks of how to use binoculars obviously but it is a start!

I don't know a ton about them, but I do know Hondas run. My wife's grandfather road one basically every day for 20+ years on his ranch to get around. It was his horse after he retired his horse. She remembers riding it as a kid and it is still in service today with her uncle. The quad was used when he got it and he probably road half way around the world on it.
