I want it, but I don't need it. Bump. Great rifle for the price. -
I saw a nice lifted red dodge mega cab hauling down the 101 northbound on near the stadium. Nice looking truck.

Needs more work...I mean nice work. The bottom 2 groups are really nice.

I am working reviving a Kimber 6.5x55 sporterized mauser right now for my backup rifle. I picked up a new Redfield scope today and some Leupold rings. I also picked up some Hornady SSTs to run through it. This will probably also be my son's first deer rifle so I wanted to start working up the accuracy and quality of the rifle and working up a load. He is only 3.5 yrs old so I hope I have enough time to get it dialed in.... Harley

No cables. Get real chains. Cables are for cars or going fast. Real chains are for full out traction.

Sportsman's Warehouse north phx showed 1 8lb keg on the powder list as of 20 min ago. I passed on it because I have already made a deal with the OP on 1. Someone call them and make sure they have it, and go get it. Harley

I have a full set of real chains for my truck. I have thankfully only had to use them 1 time but let me tell you there is no replacement for real tire chains. \ I have a late rifle cow tag north of Flagstaff and they will be in the truck for sure.

Are there any smith's on the Westside or central valley that could do a brake on a marlin xl7. PCR wouldnt do it. We are hoping for a quick turn around. My buddy wants to get it done within a week or 2. Harley
-
Lance, You want to split an 8 lber? Harley
-
Do you ever get to the central or west valley? I am interested but getting out to QC doesn't happen often.

When I shoot the barrel out of my 257 weatherby I might rebarrel it to 6.5x257 weatherby. I might build the 6.5-06 ackley for one of my kids too. I like wildcats too and 6.5 is great bullet. I will stay tuned to your variant of the 6.5 you are after.

I know 6.5-06 has already been built which should be basically what you are talking about building so the reamer already exists. It would be finding 1 especially in ackley improved. I have not delved into building mine much yet, but it has always been on my wish list when I actually can build a rifle. Harley
-
Do it. I have always wanted to build a 6.5-06. I know it can be done and would be a sweet rifle.
-
More info will probably net you more accurate and more answers. Are you talking .22-50bmg or 5.45x700 nitro? Wildcats are cool in my book, what are you thinking? Harley

I fully plan to take try and take my cow elk with my Blackhawk in 45LC if the opportunity presents itself. I doubt it will but you never know. I will be shooting 300gr Hornady xtp or speer 300gr jsp bullets in it. Harley

The only rifle I crimp in my 45-70 because they have the cannelure and the recoil is pretty nasty on that little gun. I would hate to have a round pull apart or jam in the tube. I doubt it ever would but it isn't worth finding out the hard way. I used to crimp rifle rounds before I knew better, and it isn't hard to over crimp and distort a shoulder on the case and ruin a round. Magnum handgun rounds like .44 mag and heavy .45LC I do crimp though, just not super heavily.

I call it hiking with guns. I have done a fair amount of it unfortunately in my life. I hope to change that with more knowledge and better preparation. I am 0/3 on pigs so far. 1 year doesn't really count though because I missed all but 1 day of the season due to sales meetings....right?
-
I tried that too already and it didn't work. I emailed AZGFD. I am sure it will take 3-5 days to return my email.
-
I got everything put in OK, but when I went to print out the license I bought for a person on my tag it wouldn't open the screen. Now I call AZGFD to try and every time I call in and pick an option it hangs up on me.
-
They do it in front of you. They only opened my suit case with the gun case to swab it. They did not open the gun case itself.
-
The PHX TSA checkpoint for guns is in the ticketing area but behind a screened in area. The ticket clerk takes you and your bag to the TSA guy. He opens the bag swabs for explosives a couple times and if it checks out your all set. They don't open the guncase or ask for keys. I traveled last week with 2 handguns via US Airways/American Airlines out of Terminal 4. Harley
