I used both of those brands when I was making my own 257 weatherby brass out of 7mm Rem Mag and 264 Win Mag brass. 4-6 firings was typically all I got before a neck cracked or the primer got too loose. I seat my primers with my RCBS press and I will just keep running the brass until it takes almost no pressure from the press arm to seat the primer. When the primer is super easy to set, I mark that case, and after I fire that loading I trash the case. Assuming the primer has at least enough grip to hold itself in.

Anybody have a barrel vice and howa action wrench?

Howa barrels are really hard to get off normally from what I hear. When Axisworks did mine they told me before hand that they would likely have to relief cut it to get it off, and they did. -
2nd firing is kind of quick for loose primer pockets unless you have a crazy high pressure load. What brand brass? Some are softer than others.

How many firings and what brass? On mag cases I get about 4-6 firings before the primer pockets are pretty loose. Part of it depends on how hard you are pushing the cases with load pressures.

Has anyone used them? Do you have feedback? Seem to be feature rich for a very reasonable price.

The 338 it was on was light, and even with a brake was kinda punchy.

I can probably meet you next week for the mags if that works. I work not dar from Tempe so I can probably figure out a time to meet you. I don't n have anything AICS, so it would be just cash.

Where are you located? I am interested in the 6 ARC mags.

My father in-law just died from prostate cancer. He had a rare form that PSA tests don't catch, and he had stage 4 prostate cancer that moved into his pelvis and hip bones before they caught it. He even had a bladder surgery a couple years ago and they didn't see anything wrong when they had him open. He lived about 1.5yr post diagnosis, but they couldn't really do anything to treat it.

The scope still shot ok, but it had some piece of debris in it. I am probably going to put it on a 6.5x55 or maybe a savage that I am still deciding caliber on.

I have mixed feelings on the arken epl. I liked it alot at first. The glass isn't as clear and doesn't have the same color contrast as my 3x15x50 Burris Veracity. It was nice though overall for the price. I didn't do a true tracking test, but i did run it up and down a fair amount without issue. The problem came after about 40rds from the 338 win mag i found a blob floating inside the scope in the reticle. I sent it back to Arken and they replaced it. I then put it on a 22-250 but it didn't have the magnification i wanted, not its fault. I have the scope just sitting here right now because i don't knkw what to put it on. I am not sure i can trust it, but i like if for what it is. I bought another Veracity for the 338 win mag, so it is kind of without a home right now. I have a few things to put it on, but I haven't decide where it will go.

Casey's did an elk for me in 2015, and a deer for my buddy in 2018. Both good experiences. I have heard Sanchez in Phoenix is good too, bur never used them yet. Karl's did the deer for a friend last year and yhat turned out well too.

That is also Millers I believe. I have used the forest lakes trailer before. Very convenient and they do a good job. Von Hansen's did a bear for me and they were really good too. Much better with the sausage/snack sticks/slim Jim's than Miller's.

Leaving tomorrow with my 8yr old and 11yr old. A few buddies I am headed up with are bow hunting deer.

Popular Outdoor Outfitters. 3.29-3.79 for Years before doves season. I miss those sales.

Grainger. Appliance parts people. I also can probably set 1 up at my shop if needed.

Interesting. I am almost positive I remember that the OTC season started a week or 2 earlier than the OTC bear hunt in the unit we hunt which I thought was odd, but looking at the regs I downloaded they do say they both start the 25th.

That is about average I think. I put one in jail in late November and got it in June which is a little faster than the average from what I see.

If he doesn't take it please let me know.

I have a rifle in my safe that is a conundrum to me. Savage 110 FP 300 win mag. It is a heavy pig that sucks to care and the balance is terrible because of the heavy steel barrel. It ahoots well, but right now can't be anything other than a bench gun. The stock is a crap plastic stock with bind mag. I can't get rid of it because technically it is my dad's, though I could argue it is abandoned property since he didn't take it to Missouri with him. 🤣 What do I do with this thing? It will cost a fair amount to turn it into something nice and more packable/huntable. I also am thinking if I redo this rifle I would do something smaller caliber, but it has a mag boltface and the mag will only allow 3.35" OAL. What would you do? I have 2 kids coming up the hunting ranks, so maybe something smaller for them? 7 PRC?
-
I think if I do this it will probably be a 7x57AI or 6.5-06AI. The 7x57 is an intermediate length case that I would seat longer bullets in.
-
It is a long action so I would think so right?
-
My brain is going down rabbit holes of weird calibers that could be fun. 7x57AI 7mm-08AI 6.5-06AI 6.5PRC SI And then I saw that McGowan will build octagon barrels!!! Bolt gun with octagon barrel...? I have problems 🤣
