What HP and fan RPM do you need? Amazon has them it appears and appliance oart company does too. Overpriced but you can ge them. I can see if we have any in stock today when I head to the office. Text me what you need.

Popular Outdoor Outfitters. 3.29-3.79 for Years before doves season. I miss those sales.
-
Grainger. Appliance parts people. I also can probably set 1 up at my shop if needed.

Interesting. I am almost positive I remember that the OTC season started a week or 2 earlier than the OTC bear hunt in the unit we hunt which I thought was odd, but looking at the regs I downloaded they do say they both start the 25th.

That is about average I think. I put one in jail in late November and got it in June which is a little faster than the average from what I see.

If he doesn't take it please let me know.

I have a rifle in my safe that is a conundrum to me. Savage 110 FP 300 win mag. It is a heavy pig that sucks to care and the balance is terrible because of the heavy steel barrel. It ahoots well, but right now can't be anything other than a bench gun. The stock is a crap plastic stock with bind mag. I can't get rid of it because technically it is my dad's, though I could argue it is abandoned property since he didn't take it to Missouri with him. 🤣 What do I do with this thing? It will cost a fair amount to turn it into something nice and more packable/huntable. I also am thinking if I redo this rifle I would do something smaller caliber, but it has a mag boltface and the mag will only allow 3.35" OAL. What would you do? I have 2 kids coming up the hunting ranks, so maybe something smaller for them? 7 PRC?
-
I think if I do this it will probably be a 7x57AI or 6.5-06AI. The 7x57 is an intermediate length case that I would seat longer bullets in.
-
It is a long action so I would think so right?
-
My brain is going down rabbit holes of weird calibers that could be fun. 7x57AI 7mm-08AI 6.5-06AI 6.5PRC SI And then I saw that McGowan will build octagon barrels!!! Bolt gun with octagon barrel...? I have problems 🤣
-
Great deal. Wish I hadn't already bought the 1 I needed for a rifle.

The FP is the full bull barrel. It has a big arse brake and is shoot able now, but all the weight is in the barrel and when you sling it, it tried to flip muzzle down all the time. Scoped it has to weigh 13lbs it feels like. It just sucks to carry, and with the short magazine reloading long bullets sucks. I thought about having a gunSmith shorten the barrel from 24" to 20" and flute the barrel, but I doubt it would be worth it or save enough weight to matter. I just don't know if it is worth a full rebuild or just to shoot it as a range queen.

I need a semi auto 12ga that will shoot 3" shells. I have been wanting a new Winchester SX4, but found a Beretta A390 used today for $550 plus tax. I see reviews saying the A390 is the best semi auto 12ga ever and others saying they are just OK. Who has experience?
-
I had it narrowed down to the SX4 and A300 both new. Then decided on the SX4, now this 390 is tempting. I really want a nice pretty wood gun for my old school love of wood guns, but the synthetic 390 would be a workhorse.

A coworker has a versamax and loves it. I have my dad's Winchester 1500 semiautomatic which I love, but it is only a 2.75" gun. I need a 3" autoloader for turkey, sandhill, pheasant, etc. I had decided on the Winchester SX4 until I found this used Beretta 390. Now I am torn on what to do. The 390 seems to be a great gun for less than a new SX4, but the SX4 seems nice too.
-
Is the 390 the best of the bunch since it seems you have them all?
-
It is a 28" synthetic gun.

Do it yourself. Don't trust the gun stores because they also probably don't do a good job setting eye relief for YOU. I don't care how eye relief is set for the counter guy at the gun store. It needs to be right for me. The wheeler torque wrench kit with lapping bars is very nice to have along with that good level set posted above. I use them regularly and they are worth every penny. Don't use 3 year old lock tight either. Buy a new tube fairly regularly to help keep it fresh. I know when I was in the gun stores working years ago, we did the best job we knew how, but none of us was really that good. We eyeballed scopes being level and didn't use a torque wrench... You can bore sight the rifle at the range yourself for almost all rifles. Google it. Basically you put the rifle in sandbags or rest and aim it at a target looking thru the bore. Then move the scope to the center of that target without moving the rifle. Start with the target at 25 or 50 yards. Then move out.

True story. I have some dumb dream of a 340 weatherby and this could have been it, but I have no need for another big powder eater. I need some smaller stuff if anything 🤣
-
Someone buy this please...I don't need another rifle. 🤣 Get it threaded and put a self timing brake in it along with a timney trigger and I bet you have a hammer of a rifle that shoots sub moa. Both the series 1 Vanguards I loaded for shot sub MOA. This thing is an elk hammer. Someone needs it beside me.
-
That is a series 1. Good guns. I had 1 that would shoot 168gr Barnes TTSX under .75 MOA. The series 1 had the nice bolts and smooth actions. Great value. GLWS

Camping etiquette ( what's wrong with people ? )
Hoss50 replied to Crazymonkey's topic in The Campfire
I am starting to head back down this path I think. I have a small toy hauler and it is nice for camping, but still requires a fair amount of work. During turkey season me and 2 boys took the tent and the truck and headed into a new area and just tent camped. I like the trailer, but some places I would like to camp a trailer just wouldn't go. So we are probably going to start mixing in the more primitive camping again. -
