I second Headache and say the Viper HD 15x50 are awesome for the money. I just bought a pair and love them.

I'm looking to upgrade my tripod, as I just upgraded my glass to the new Vortex Viper HD 15x50. I've read nothing but good things about the new Cullmann Magnesit series tripods, and was wondering if anyone has experience with them? I'm looking to keep it under $100. Thanks for the input.

So my hunting license has my old address, as I have just moved. Can I still apply for the leftover tags under my new address or will that kick back because the info doesn't match? I just realized this might be an issue.

You say that joking but I'd say that at least half of the hunters I saw out there last year were in street clothes. I had one guy in a red flannel shirt and jeans hike up the hill I was glassing (from the back side) and plop down a lawn chair. He sat there with his gun in his lap for about 20 minutes before a buck came right over the hill in front of him. He stood up, shot it, threw it over his shoulder, packed up his lawn chair and walked back over the hill like that was just how he planned it. The dude didn't have binos or anything. That was deflating to say the least.

Every time I head down there I carry a sidearm. Especially when scouting. During the hunt there are a ton of other hunters out there, but scouting it's just you and the wilderness. Make sure you lock up all your stuff in camp or it can and will go missing. That's the hunt I'm getting a leftover for, maybe I'll see you down there.

If there is water everywhere, they have no reason to travel to the tank they use when it's dry. Therefore, they'll stay put, drink from the puddles around them, and typically not move around too much.

Well said mklong40. There are a lot of deer in there, you just gotta put the work in to find them (like everywhere else). The main spots mentioned on the G&F website will have the highest hunter densities. If you really want to get into the deer and stay away from other hunters, you're going to have to do some hiking and get off the roads about a mile. There are 800 tags for the 36B hunts so it will be crowded. Which hunt did you draw? Early, middle, or late?

With any luck by the end of July, that sucks. So more than likely we're looking at another couple weeks.

I just got a new pair of Vortex Viper HD 15x50 and was wondering if there is a more convenient, or easier to use tripod mount than the vortex one? I have used it with my old diamondbacks and it was a pain to screw in and out. Any ideas?

AZGFD informed us all to have our CC updated in their system by 7/13, which was last Friday. I'm assuming the draw will start early this week and we should see results posted by Thursday or Friday.

I'm totally interested. Could you PM me some specifics about how you put this thing together/programmed the router?

I couldn't agree more. I've been sick all morning. Now the only way to get rid of Obamacare, is to get rid of Obama. I'm not a big fan of Romney, but will definitely be voting for him in November!

This is terrible. Not only that, but since when does the supreme court have the authority to legislate from the bench? Obama said the entire time "this is not a tax", even though we all called BS on that. But now, the supreme court says they can't mandate it, but as a tax it's legal. So they in turn say we'll interpret it as a tax and say we're all good. Even more reason we need to vote Obama out of office in November. This will kill our American Capitalism. If he gets re-elected, it will be implemented fully and there will be no way to repeal it.
