I don't really care about the kind of wood, just need a bunch to take on our javelina hunt up in 17 this weekend. We're looking to load up one of those hitch hauler racks with wood.

Hey guys, I live in Surprise and was wondering if anybody knows a place to get firewood in the far west valley? I know there's a place off Litchfield just south of Peoria, but I don't have the number or any info on them, nor can I find anything with the google machine. Anybody have recommendations?

$550 on the Vipers. Used for 1 season. Took them out for a 1 day scouting trip, and 3 days for the hunt. Have original box and packaging.

I recently got a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 7mm-08 and LOVE IT! Great trigger, super light, and oh so smooth action. I would definitely look into it.

So I've decided I finally need a spotting scope, and am having a hard time choosing which to get. To this point, I've only used cheap old bushnell spotters that I feel have been terrible. I could see stuff better and clearer through my 15x50 Vipers than through the spotter. Also, the field of view on that thing was awful, and it had some serious black area around the tiny dot of image (which was hard to even find). That being said, if all spotting scopes have a tiny field of view where you can barely see anything, maybe I'll look into some 20x or 25x binoculars. But I haven't made that choice yet. I'm currently debating if there is going to be a huge difference between the Vortex Nomad 20-60x60 and the new Vortex Diamondback spotter? They price on the Diamondback is much higher, and I can get a Nomad with Vortex tripod for $299 right now. Also, I'm considering the Minox MD50, but need some direction here. I currently have Vortex Viper 15x50 HD binos and I want something to really get in there and make antler determinations out to 800-1000 yards. Last season I glassed up a couple bedded dear at those ranges, and wasn't able to tell if it was a buck or doe. Thanks in advance.

Are the swaros really $800 better than the Kaibabs?

I'm looking to stay under $500 on the spotter since I'm not sure I'll even use it very often. I'm pretty happy with my binoculars I have right now, but I always wonder if there's a huge difference in the 56mm objective in the Kaibabs. I went by Cabela's last night to check out some spotters. It seems like the 80mm objective makes a huge difference! I'm pretty much looking at the Vortex Diamondback ($499), Nikon Prostaff ($399), or the Vortex Nomad ($199). The Prostaff is the previous model, not the 5. The Nomad is a 60mm objective, not 80mm. Hmmm...

Coach, these men offer some great advice for you, and here's my 2 cents. I think we all go through times of struggles where we feel "lost" and in a way, disconnected. Those are the times we need to hunker down, pray, and let God show us the way. I've been there, felt lost and just couldn't find a way to connect. The best way to overcome this is to get into God's word. Reading through the Bible and attending church. I know it sounds so simple, but sometimes we don't make going to church on a consistent basis a priority. Then one missed Sunday leads to another, and before we know it we've just stopped going. Sometimes with the events happening in the world around us, it's hard to continue to believe. It's hard to stand by our faith. Like Mocha's daughter, after Sandy Hook, I too was wondering why God would let that happen. I even asked my wife, and she gave me a great response. Her response was that God gave us all free will, and the choice to choose good or evil. Some people choose the wrong path, as the Sandy Hook shooter did. But if God were to step in and save the day every time somebody chose evil, we wouldn't have that free will. God wants us to choose him, his path, and to be his light for the world. It's through that choice that we are saved. Whenever I'm feeling down and having my doubts, I look at my life, and see the many ways God has blessed me. There are many events in my life that can only be explained by miracles from God. I know I'm following God's will for my life, and that he has placed me exactly where I'm at for a specific reason. That reason is still to be known, but I know in my heart of hearts that God will will have His will done in my life. Sorry for the long post here, but one last thing. Getting together with other men who are believers in Christ and share your faith is a great way to stay connected. Accountability groups, or just getting together for coffee once a month and talking about your life and your faith. Could make a big difference.

WallHanger, I would seriously consider putting that Mini 14 on gunbroker. You could easily get the $1000 you were asking for.

There's an app called Topo Maps that works great for that purpose. Can download them to your phone for when you don't have service too.
