    Spotting Scope Help

Ok, so I've pretty much settled on the HD version. Now what are the pros and cons of the 80mm objective? I don't mind hauling around the extra 1 lb if it gets me more light or wider field of view.

    Another noob with questions

Oh boy, if you're getting a new rifle I would get the Tikka T3 Lite WITHOUT A DOUBT!! It has the smoothest action of any out of the box rifle you can buy and is deadly accurate. I LOVE MINE!! I've got a custom Savage 111 280 Ackley Improved and shoots lights out. But that's after a lot of upgrades. There's nothing left stock on that gun but the action.

    Need Some Pointers

So I have a tag for unit 7 mule deer and I'm fully aware the good bucks are in the northern portion of the unit in the flats. I just have no idea how to hunt flat terrain like that. Is the best way to climb up the highest hill I can find and just glass the flat ground? Find the thickest areas of trees in the flats and glass that? I'm really at a loss here. I haven't had much luck in the pines, and don't want to deal with the masses that accumulate and hunt around the peaks. I'm heading out scouting again this weekend, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Spotter or 15's???

15's no doubt. For longer range glassing you'll need them. I find it hard to glass with a spotter. I only use one for counting points and making decisions.

    Another noob with questions

Like was said before, the best way to get to know coues deer is to watch them. Once you glass one up, whether it's a doe or a buck, just watch it for awhile. See what it does, how it acts, where it beds and what it looks like while it's bedded down. Look away for a few minutes then find it again. Helps you to understand what they do and how they move. I found that to be the most beneficial for me when I was just starting out glassing. Another big thing, like said above is getting the best glass you can afford x 2. I started with a pair of $60 bushnell permafocus 10x42 binos and have upgraded every hunt until now I have a pair of Vortex Kaibabs and a pair of Minox 15x58s. I love them. Maybe one day I'll get some Swaros but for now I couldn't be happier. I've got a couple tripods, a slik sprint pro 2 and a culmann magnesit. I prefer the magnesit as it's higher quality and is sturdier, although it is heavier. Both are good and I can recommend them both for around $100. If you have any specific questions about anything on here, let us know and we'll see what we can do to help you out.

    Feral Hogs in New Mexico

Ya I think that's about all it does. But for general purposes it gives you an idea where known hogs are. I know it's a general area that it gives, but it's better than nothing, right?

    Springfield 4.5" XDm in 40 Cal $550.00

Awesome gun. I love my XDM
  16. I've got a new AR15 never fired. Red x arms upper with stainless barrel and flash hider, Yankee Hill lower, magpul flip up sights, a couple 30 round mags, 200 rounds of 223 ammo and a cabelas tactical case. I'm looking to get an old hunting truck/suv that I don't mind beating up a bit, so this will go towards funding that. If you've got an older truck or blazer, bronco, suburban, etc. and want to do a partial trade, I'd be willing to do that as well. $1000 OBO
  17. Price Lowered. $100 takes it.
  18. I have a spare bolt carrier group for an AR15 laying around and thought I'd offer it up if anyone is interested. It's brand new. It's made by rguns, which I've heard good things about their products, but have terrible service. Looking to get $100.
  19. I've got a pair of Vortex Viper 15x50 HD binoculars that I got last year. I've since upgraded to Kaibabs and need the money to fund a new hunting vehicle purchase. They are in great shape and come with the original box and soft case. Also includes tripod adapter and Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite Tripod with BHQ8 Ball Head and case. Looking to get $600 for them with all the goodies. I think that's a fair price as I paid well over $750 for the package. And as you all know, Vortex has the lifetime no fault warranty.

Vortex Viper 15x50 HD Binos w/ Tripod

I'm looking for something 4wd and older like an old 80s suburban or truck of some sort. Something I don't care if it gets a bit beat up.
