I always save mine as a pdf when I get it online. That way if I lose it I can always reprint it at no cost.

    Deer and Cold

Thanks guys. It pretty much seems that the consensus is that lack of food and presence of snow will bring the deer down off the higher elevations.

    That's pretty cool.

    Unit 7 Muleys

Well only 2 days left until I head up the hill. Loads have been developed and tested, guns have been cleaned and camo has been washed and is scent free. Just need to clean the Kaibab HD, Minox 15x58 ED and Razor HD 65 and I'll be ready!

finally got to use my havalon.

I was actually going to try this same pattern yesterday. After starting to carve one for the little ones, I quickly changed my mind. Those dang pumpkins are hard to cut into, even with a havalon.

How Long Can the Meat Hang?

So I'm going up to unit 7 for a mule deer hunt in a couple weeks and have a question. After the kill is made, field dressed, and skinned, how long can you have the meat hang in camp before it starts to go bad? I know alot of it has to do with temperature, but according to the forecast we're looking at high 50's in the day and high 20's at night. Any ideas. I want to say Casey from Casey's told me a couple years ago it could hang for a couple days without problem in that weather, but I'm positive.

    Unit 7 Muleys

That's a great sign! With only about a week left until the hunt, I'm hoping to be able to get up to scout a bit this weekend. Also, the weather is shaping up to be perfect for the hunt.

    Who taught you to hunt?

Unfortunately my Father didn't do much hunting while I was growing up, but I had friends all growing up that would hunt with their Fathers. I was always interested and always had a bb gun I would shoot birds with in the backyard. Finally at age 23 I went on a hunt to help my uncle, dad, and brother on their first hunt. The very next year, 2010, I was drawn for my first tag in unit 7 for mule deer. I was fortunate enough to harvest a small forky, which was pure luck. Ever since then I have been a man on a mission to learn everything I can about hunting. I've taught myself most of what I've learned. I also learned how to glass from Duwane Adams, who is an awesome guide and an awesome man. He's always there for me to call and get pointers and bounce ideas off of. I would highly recommend taking his glassing class if you have the chance. I learn more and more about hunting and techniques every year, and feel as though this community is also a great source for learning and insight. I'm just starting to feel like I'm at the point where I know what I'm doing and feel confident in my abilities to glass, stalk, and analyze areas. I can't wait to see what the future holds and what more I can learn about hunting!

No worries. I totally understand where you're coming from. To be honest, I don't know much about those units, but I was genuinely curious which units you thought were better. Yes, I have a unit 7 tag. I'm hoping for the best. I'm always open to and thankful for pointers. That would be great!

Nope. I've never hunted those units, but have helped on a couple hunts in each of the above mentioned units and there are nice deer in each. I wasn't trying to be a smart @ss, I was just curious what you were thinking since you threw it out there and didn't say which ones. I understand It's all simply a matter of opinion, and that will vary from person to person. I was just curious what exactly your opinion of the best 2 or 3 were since you said it. That's all. I didn't realize you'd get so upset about such a simple comment, lesson learned.

  20. So I've got an extra one of these in sitting around and I'd like to get rid of it. It's brand new in the box, with full warranty and everything else. This watch is AWESOME! It's the Casio competitor to the Suunto. I wear one in all black and love it. Retail on this watch is $300. I'll let it go to CWT member for $225. Stay on step ahead of Mother Nature with the Solar Powered PRW3000, incorporating Casio's new Triple Sensor Version 3 engine. Advanced CASIO original technology has allowed for a 95% smaller direction sensor and 90% reduction in sensor power consumption compared to previous models. Despite their smaller size, the new sensors in this model delivers better accuracy and energy efficiency. This model can measure Altitude in 1m increments (previously 5m) and display compass readings with 60-seconds of continuous measurement (previously 20 seconds). In addition to the altimeter and digital compass, the watch's Barometer, incorporates a unique Barometric Pressure Tendency Alarm that alerts the wearer to sudden changes in pressure readings. Design features include a compact, sleek case and soft urethane band for a better fit to the wrist. One-touch access to digital compass, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature readings keep important information at your fingertips. Other features include Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping, 100-meter water resistance, and more. Everything about these models is designed and engineered to make them essential pieces of outdoor gear. wtb used canyon cooler or yeti

After seeing this I got in contact with the dealer rep at Brute Outdoors and asked about a group buy. Basically he said if we can get 25 coolers on the buy, they could do 20% off. They look like good coolers and I've been eyeballing them for awhile now. It's an option.
