I was in 6A over the weekend and Sunday morning I had 3 gobbling around me at sunrise. Unfortunately they weren't coming in to calls and I was setup too far away from the roost to make anything happen (setup over water). They were gobbling pretty good though but I believe they were still henned up. Good luck out there. I thought about heading out again this weekend, but not sure if I'll make it.

This. Last year the November hunt was a tough one. They were already highly pressured and pushed further back into the country than normal.

Anybody been up in 6A heard some gobbling? I was up on Friday and heard a couple around mormon lake. Still trying to get my first gobbler, any pointers would be great.

I don't see any issue at all here. He approached you to see what your plans were, what more could you ask for. Maybe he was planning to hunt there all along and you screwed up his hunt. It's public land, he didn't even have to check in with you but he chose to be an ethical hunter and make sure you weren't going to be hunting on top of each other. I'd say that's good in my book. As far as you being mad at him because he is a "cheap dork", well grow up. Not everyone can afford a truck and high dollar camo. I drive my civic into the woods on occasion and buy camo from the bargain cave at cabelas, what does that make me?
