I decided to slice some meat from the freezer and make some quick Carne Seca. Halfway thru I hit something hard. Look and sliced thru a bullet. I was pretty surprised because I thought I found most of my bullet when we processed my deer. When I pulled it out I noticed it was not my caliber. Compared to my 3006 round and yup a lot smaller. This was in one of the hind quarters. Looks like someone made a bad shot on this guy and he lived to see another day. Lucky for me. Round looks pretty small to me. I'll measure diameter tomorrow at work. Anyone run into something like this?

Everytime I have a yard sale these guys show up with their trailers. I take special care not to damage furniture or items I am selling as I place them outside. These guys come by, try to low ball you, but most of the time buy. Then they literally toss it in their trailer or truck Tetris stye. There is a big market for used furniture down there. What is law enforcement going to really do? Write them a ticket? Tell them to offload their truck on the side of the road leaving all that junk for us? I know it is an accident waiting to happen, but it is cheaper and easier to look the other way. We should make them unload it for inspection at the checkpoint to search for weapons. They can reload it however the F they want after they cross that line.

I've hunted 24A the last 2 years and although we didn't harvest we had a blast. Looks like there are 300 MD tags and 1125 WT tags so you have a better chance of drawing a WT tag in that unit. Although the success numbers are lower in these units, those that do their preseason scouting can be successful. Make sure you can differenciate between the two species because we saw both each time out. Consider 24B as well Good luck on the draw !

Was the rifle taken along to make sure the sheds were dead? ..or just "in case sh*t". I guess the best answer would be "because I have the dang right to". Great finds and lucky to have a wife who enjoys your passion.

12x monarchs with iPhone. There are 2 coues bucks in there although you can only make 1 out in picture. No idea why it comes out sideways

Just noticed this was posted in Mule Deer section. The one he shot was coues. Decent 3x3 between 70-80" maybe.

So I decided to do a quick score of my muley rack on the B&C webpage. Score = 256!!! Before I go bragging about my 256 muley I thought I would get help from someone who actually knows what they are doing. Is there anyone out in the East Valley (Chandler/Gilbert/Temp) that would mind scoring my rack? I'll bring it over and buy you a sixer for your help. I was really hoping you would say 24a. Still can't get over the deer my cousin shot and couldn't recover. I still have scars on my arms from scouring up and down the mountain for 2 days. Oh well, that is nice of you to post. Hopefully someone will come forward.

All I have to say is you guys are good guessers!! Flatlander went out of his way to invite me in his home and score my buck for me. He has a great deer collection which was bonus to see as well. There are some great people in the CWT community. Unofficial: Gross Score: 177 6/8 Net Score: 173 6/8 It is going to be hard to top that....especially since I'll be mostly chasing coues from here on.

Great stories and at least you got that close to deer and most of all came out in one piece. I've taken a spill on a rock slide and was lucky I didn't keep sliding.

No score yet, so I'll be taking up some of you on your offers. Here are some pics of my finished euro mount. Dog got to it and damaged nose. Other than that came out great.

Thanks everyone. I am having a friend finish off my euro mount using his beatles and he is supposed to have another friend score it. I'll post pics when my mount is done and take up some of these offers if we don't get it scored.
