You could look at the Vortex Crossfire 10x42 which run less than the Diamondbacks. ($170) You could also try the Alpen Pro 10x42 ($100). Alpen warranty is as good or better than Vortex. Either way I would go used on either of these brands

I have a two story house and I shoot AT my house. It's only like 10-15 yards, but it keeps me in bow shape. My block wall is only 6ft and if for some reason I miss I've got neighbors. My brothers neighbor in Albuquerque was shot in the back by some guy shooting in his backyard. I think the guy wasn't seriously hurt though....the guy was shooting a Mathews.

I hunt alongside my cousin who has the Viper's 15x50HD and side by side with my Monarch5 12x42 we both agree the Nikons are equal if not better. Nice to see someone else who agrees. They should have included the Monarch7's
