Hit the water at 130 after getting something to eat at Scorpion Bay Marina. Fished Castle Creek area from a pontoon switching off from trolling A-rigs and casting towards shore. There were three of us plus guide. I hooked up first and pulled in a nice large mouth. I guess that is pretty unusual. Fished till dark and the others caught 3 stripers trolling. Saturday the guide's client pulled in 7 by himself. I guess it really does depend on the day. It was pretty frustrating, but I guess that's fishing. At the docks no one else seemed to have had much luck either. Tipped our guide pretty good because he worked his butt off. He filleted and bagged our catch (a single small bag). I will probably never striper fish again. If I'm going to spend the time I'll head up to Rim lakes and streams. In another note, I can't believe how many burros there were on the banks. Must have seen 30. Driving out of there in the dark I sure had my eyes open and foot covering the brake.

Copy/paste from Facebook Please share if you fish in AZ!!! If you ever want to catch a brown trout at Lee's Ferry you better get up there fast before they're all gone. The National Park Service has issued a brown trout removal, with no public discussion or input allowed to my knowledge. They laid the dirty work of slaying all these brown trout, and a few rainbows as you can see as incidental kill, on the hands of the GCMRC who are currently studying the rainbow trout population at Lee's Ferry on the Colorado River in Northern Arizona. https://www.facebook.com/dave.trimble.9/posts/1861282740566743

Sounds like this could be a bust for us, either way it will be something new and getting excited to head up there on Sunday. Looks like it will be in the high 70s which is not great. I'll take some pics and share

Please PM me if you can help me out. I really don't expect answers posted on the www If a certain person was planning a day trip to go walk a few miles around the mogollon rim (no ATV access area) the weekend of April 1st would they have a good chance of finding some fresh browns? I've checked and the road to get to my area is open. I'm probably only going to get one trip in this spring so I want to make it worth it.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Based on what I've learned I am going to postpone my trip until mid-May when the temps warm up.

Nice story from 2015. -
Surprised you don't like this. Built solid as heck, smooth dial and bright pins.

I see what you did here ^^^ I followed your lead and posted my link all over Facebook.

Are these lots #233 and #234? Gonna be tough selling being right on 260

Not on here too Just saw a post about this on Facebook. The anti's are resurrecting the issue about Remington 700 triggers and how unsafe they are and how negligent gun manufacturers are. The recall doesn't impact your rifle since they only recalled those after 2006. If I were you I'd put a Timney on it anyway.

^^^ wrong fish

That's a heck of a camp for hunting alone. Congrats I nearly got my truck stuck once in the sand on the other side of that bridge.

He probably was quoted $250 extra for 90 degree turn "bugling". Open mouth bugling mount require more time and work. The jawsets are more money also. The pose Norteno posted looks like the McKenzie right turn, off-set semi sneak, antler Clearance form Thanks, I think this is what I'm going with. My main beams aren't long enough to show off a full 90 degree turn. I'll save that pose for my next elk in 10 years. Here is my elk for those interested.

>>Google I run across this all the time ad need to research it myself but I also look up reviews. This looks like a heck of a deal if it is 1200yd http://www.midwayusa.com/product/847034/leupold-rx-iii-laser-rangefinder-1200-yard-match-13-reticle-system-8x-armored-black http://www.ebay.com/p/Leupold-RX-III-Rangefinder/70287111

Looks up "Katana sword ivory" on eBay and you are not going to like the results.

^^^^show off For my bull I think the right turn is best to show off the 7th and bladed beam on the right side. 90 degree turn is also an additional $250. Dang it, now I'm considering 90 degree turn again.

Walking into my spot in the dark at 4am for my elk hunt I heard a calf elk getting taken down. Freakiest sound I ever heard. Thought it was coyotes, but could have been wolves.
