Breeding for personal use?
kninebirddog replied to davidkucharik's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Tres is spot on. Gunshy lack of hunt desire are all things that can be passed on. There are many studies even for just your "PET" quality dogs that warn Puppy Buyers even for just the Companion pet to watch out for issues in the dams and sires of the pups as what you see in the Parents of the pups is a good indicator of you will have' in the pups Especially Sound sensitive issues, So next question what will you do with the pups no one wants? Rescue Animal shelter extra are filled with average animals and animals with genetic issues and animals with epigenetic issues. As Stated it is your dog - But do think about those pups and read your post. I think and would hope you can answer your own question -
Welcome to Q5 Outdoor Products as a new sponsor of CWT!
kninebirddog replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sponsor Spotlight
I have the Q5 centerfire I have back problems and firbromyaglia This vest distributes weight so well I can go a long time with water and guiding for pheasant and I don't get the severe burning in my shoulders like other vests I have used cause me. I can also get on and off my horse easily with the centerfire vest when I judge for NSTRA trials or have a chance to wild bird hunt Thank You Dan for an AWESOME Product Also I was able to fit 9 pheasant in the back area also with out feeling like I was being pulled down making it much easier for my lower back issues -

Rick and Ronnie Smith Foundation Seminar
kninebirddog posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Rick Smith Will be leading a Rick and Ronnie Smith Foundation Seminar Feb 21, 22, & 23, 2014 here in Coolidge AZ. This seminar is great for those who are just starting with bird dogs to those that have been into bird dogs for decades. There is something for all to gain knowledge. Cost is $400.00 per person attending the seminar and Friday evening is check-in where Rick will go over what will be happening over Sat & Sunday, and there will be Q&A . I have hosted many of Smith Foundation Seminars and there is always something to learn that makes one a better dog handler, and/or teacher. If you don't have a dog yet or are coming from a distance to attend, there will be loaner dogs to help get that hands on experience. Note; the seminar is for the people to learn dos & don'ts, and get help with dogs by going through things allowing owners/handlers and the dog to become a working team through leadership and leaving out the dictatorship. If you are interested in the seminar, it has limited entries. If you plan to attend please send a $50.00 deposit check made out to Rick Smith with your name and phone number and email address to Arlette Hennessey 774 N Wheeler Rd Coolidge Az 85128. The checks will be held and handed to Rick on Feb 21... NO CHECK WILL BE CASHED UNTIL AFTER THE SEMINAR. Please do not wait until the last minute as to seminars have been cancelled because people failed to send in their deposits and leaving the host to think they failed to meet the minimum participants. Please take into consideration that Rick and/or Ronnie when conducting these seminars have to cover their expenses for coming out (Flight, Hotel, Car , rental, & Meals etc) THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR SELF CONTAINED CAMPING AT THE 774 N. WHEELER SITE -

I can't use Deet makes me sick I know to stay away from anything high in potassium before going out as that will attract twice as many blood suckers and I really want to know why Noah didn't swat those 2 mosquitoes and the 2 ticks on the ark

http://amesplantation.org/field-trial/2012%20national/synopsis.asp Looks like there is more bird work this year and more dogs making it around so far some of the foundation that people look for in their breeding make their names at this trial..Kinda neat getting the brace by brace synopsis -

Bottom line what is ethical Most important What you are capable of being the most accurate at .. Doesn't matter if your bow can send an arrow at lethal power if you can not clearly see the vital zone well enough to hit it what you are comfortable with and confident you will be able to make the shot count ..hitting a vital area

VERY DISAPPOINTED AND RATHER DISGUSTED
kninebirddog replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in The Campfire
We process our own... All we do is separate each muscle get the sinew and tendons then cut each muscle into 1/4 inch medallions the smaller pieces we bag for stew the small medallions when we go to cook we soak in paul newmans balsamic vinaigrette for at least an hour slow cook on any BBQ and never make enough LOL ask any one that has had the pleasure -
We had a client who hit his deer in the hind..the broadhead cut the main artery and believe it or not was down in about 150 yds but we let area sit for about 6 hours before we went to search Good Luck I sure hope you get a recovery

There are a lot of factors as to how much a bucks antlers can grow Genetics has to be there then Quality of feed and time they are getting that quality feed and for how long they are getting the feed at crucial antler pre growth and growth also how many Does they breed...This has been proven at whitetail breeding farms that the more a buck breeds the less his antlers will grow the following season.. has to do with the chasing and possible fighting and the actual breeding ..and this is noticed even with supplemented feeds...also why many manged ranches want to keep the Doe population down for better bucks
-
also you might also want to contact the breeder...many reputable breeders will take pups and dogs back from their breedings if they can or may be able to help to rehome Good Luck
