For my sheep hunt, I had some excellent advice given to me by the outfitter: DON"T INVITE A BUNCH OF WEEKEND WARRIORS. There will be so much pressure to shoot a sheep on the weekend, it can lead to bad issues. Everyone wants to be in that photo. I suppose if you are able to manage expectations of those attending, it can work out.

Great addition to the giblet gravy for Thanksgiving.

Certainly, the XP or Target version are nicer, but my main point is that the extra weight for a small kid may be a bit much. The length of pull is pretty short. My 7 yr old grandson who is big for 7 could not hold it up but the length of pull is good. It is a classy little gun.

Note the XP is significantly heavier that the regular Rascl. Buds on-line or Western Drug or Sportsmans

I was on a very cold weather sandhill crane hunt. We stayed at an RV Park so it was no big deal but the water hose froze. You need to use internal water. I also have to the the little Honda generators for power if we go remote -- CPAP and O2 require a fair bit of power and the heater blower is not that big of a current draw and one generator will last all night. The daytimes were not all that cold that it would freeze internal water lines. I would never leave the trailer out all night with no power. The alternate and smart strategy would be to winterize while you are gone. You can NEVER be totally sure when you will get back. We learned that at our trailer park when friends did not make it back up when they hoped. Less than $20 in pink juice to winterize.

I prefer the savage also ... note there is Henry Rifle one to consider, also. I would love to get a stock extension for my savage so I could sight it in and use it after grandkids lose interest. I also got the wood stock for future mod capability.

How does it secure to the bed or is it just set there?

Even with near max points, if you put in for the more popular units, you risk not drawing as those tags go to the 20% pass with more points. After all 80% of the permits go to just those that are lucky.

great tag ... congrats

Consider getting a new ball with the proper shank size and of course lube it up.

I believe that is stovetop ... I had to look $20-$244. How in the world can a percolator cost $244???

I'm listening to a Bull as we speak. 3 nights ago was very active. Then 2 quiet nights. Tonight, starting off active. But then again, the ELKS are playing St Johns tonight.

With all the deer pics, I decided to check on the harvest so far. Congrats, unit 1 is already done today. 54 is quite a bit over the objective of 45 and that does not include very recent reports. Oh well. I guess that is the only unit closed already. Are the deer just stupider in unit 1 or are the estimates just really too low? I am a bit surprised that 27 is not closing also.

I see that amazon has those for under $10 -
I sure thought today was Wednesday! Guess I just want Dove season to start. HOWEVER, Taco Tuesday is not bad either.

54 harvests reported in unit 1 ... wonder how many more there will be. Stanley: I am going with plausible deniability on stories.

I, sort of, went up the river in a 12' Mirrocraft using a 15 hp Chrysler 2-stroke. I could have walked faster than I was able to push that boat up river. For future use, I would always get the max size motor for the boat as that is what it was designed for. Also, for Lee's Ferry, you probably should get a jet as opposed to a prop. It is not a forgiving river.
