We were out running the dogs in unit 1 this weekend. Yesterday afternoon we saw a dozen and a half in the low areas and then today saw a couple dozen up in the high country. Lots of bugs and vegetation is really helping those thunder chickens out!

No matter what the season record, you can never predict the outcome for the Pride bowl around Thanksgiving. Kind of like what happened with the UT and OK game. You never know.

Nice Pics. You definitely want the USFS map for Santa Ritas (others included) and maybe the National Geographic maps for Arizona which will include 34A. All I got is stay away from the motocross course on the east side -- I have never seen so much off road trails in my life.

I found out today that the Big Lake Campgrounds do not usually close till the 3rd big snow which is around the 3rd weekend in October. This is from Rick at the BL Store. His business is hurting due the shutdown. The order came directly from the Whitehouse and the local USFS officials were too ashamed to even sign/letterhead/endorse it. What a fine mess King Obama has gotten us into!

The campgrounds are closed but not the lakes -- open to fishing according to the Region 1 G&F Office. They also said the Big Lake Campgrounds closed after Labor Day.
