I had a mishap with a local taxidermist and ended up paying double to get my hide and horns back. Jerry Clairno was unavailable to deal with my cape and told me to take it one of the other local guys. I did and got some really bad advice on the size of the deer (I really think he wanted to hijack my cape-- it was the biggest neck size he'd seen that yr. I got into it big time with his father, too). It was a long time ago but I think the going rate to cape, clean up, and have it tanned was like $75-$100 and I ended up paying $200. Jerry gave me full credit for the charges, though. I hope you you are able to get it back for a reasonable fee but that is what I paid about 22 yrs ago.

I got to say that I would root on ASU against the Californicating or other PAC-12 schools. Think those haters up the road are saying BEAR DOWN right now against Oregon?

QF is a Conservation based group centered around quail (similiar to RMEF, DU and the parent organization is Pheasants Forever). Jonathan Odell from G&F reviewed some of the new rules affecting quail hunters (weapons and areas, mostly) and answered questions. Going to be a tough year for Gambel and Scaled quail -- maybe OK (cautiously optomistic)for Mearns.

With bird season well under way it is time to get the Southern Arizona Quail Forever meetings started. However, we are switching things up a little bit and having our first meeting in Tucson. We've decided to try different locations this year starting with this meeting. This meeting will be at Buddy's Grill on the east side of Houghton RD South of Valencia (address and website below). We will still meet at 6:30 pm for a drink and to shoot the breeze followed by the actual meeting at 7:00 pm. We will have our own room with wait staff; so, meet there and order any food or drink you need from the meeting room. The agenda is a little loose with a review of some happenings from last year and a plan of events for this year. We are trying to arrange for someone from the AZGFD to answer questions about some the changes that are taking place. Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting another great year under way! I got to raise the BS Flag on this one. Each of us can certainly give our own experience or what we have heard. To generalize like you did was not really helpful. I think it was helpful for the other 3 guys to offer an opinion.
