Any idea how it groups?

Depends on the year -- whenever the turkeys are responding. Calling is the key.

It continues to amaze me that several on here push Biden/Harris while the Democratic Platform is absolutely anti-gun and anti-police. I bet they vote!

Wife hit me with the car the other day in the parking lot! Somehow, she is now mad at me. Thought I should at least get a cake out of it. This old body takes a while to spring so but I figure I should at least get 2 weeks of sympathy? HECK NO! And no turkey yet again ... 23 BP and counting.

WOW talk about fee increases
Big Tub posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
The news was posted with no comments allowed but here it is: Long read. They claim to be recovering costs expended but I would say they are trying to discourage participation. The fees I am concerned about are those involved in bird dog training, bird raising, and field trials: WOW WHAT AN INCREASE: "Increase the fee for the Game Bird Field Trial License to $45. Currently, the fee for this license is $6. Establish a $95 fee for the Game Bird Field Training License; require a fee of $45 for the renewal of the Game Bird Field Training License. Currently, this license is issued at no charge. Increase the fee for the Game Bird Hobby License to $80; require a fee of $40 for the renewal of the Game Bird Hobby License. Currently, the fee for this license is $5" Lots of other changes involved in this proposal but that parts hurts. Perhaps the bureaucracy problems are the reason for the audit findings. I know up north, I was told you don't even need these bird permits but in S AZ it is all the rage. COMMENTS?- 1 reply

Many of the areas have multiple houses within the 1/4 mile. I would want permission on that 26Bar ranch!

That second one is not going to have much meat! -
My son and I were watching the huge cow herd up in Eagar a couple weeks ago and another truck pulled up and asked us "do you have the other tags?" They explained that there were depredation hunts every week after June 1, 5 tags each week. I had noticed all the elk were getting more and more skittish with time and the depredations hunts explained that. All the elk had moved out of the bottom where the road crosses the Milligan Ditch over to the 26-Bar Ranch (Hopi/John Wayne Ranch) where there was obviously no hunting. Those elk really learned fast as to where to hang out. I suspect the success rate on these hunts is really low considering the spooky elk and the difficulty accommodating the 1/4 mile rule. This last weekend, the huge herd but was with the ~200+ cows and calves.

There are still a few around my feeder but I think most have gone. The feeder would not last a few hours when they were here in force. I still had food left from yesterday this morning. They are pigs of the sky! -
