    Best tripod

What are you talking about? Not sure what that means! Don't know the guys over there but the tripod kicks butt. My friend had one and after seeing it out in the field I had to get one. The guy that helped me seemed to be really cool. Like I said I don't know what your talking about, but if it works I will use it.

    Transferring tags to family members

My wife drew a 27 rifle tag last year and my boys didn't get any tags. So I took her tag to AZGFD. They took her tag and put it into one of my sons name. I was the only one present. I took there hunting license and tag with me. When I left my son had a tag that was now reprinted in his name. I took him hunting and the wife stayed home.

Most Wallow fire closures are OPEN!!

It's been 10 years since I had a elk tag in unit 1. It was the last time I had a tag period. I grew up in the white mountains and can't wait to get up there and start scouting. I'm hoping the fire didn't mess it up to bad. We'll probably go up and get started scouting on the 4th of July and every weekend till the hunt.

    Best tripod

I just got the Outdoorsman medium with the center extension. I was using the slik with the outdoorsman pistol grip last year. I absolutely love the outdoorsman. Hands down the best tripod I've seen.

    Glassing

The most important thing to have is one of those comfortable D-wedge seats. For the most part if you stay put good things will come. I've been glassing looking at the same hillside for hours and just when I had enough they appear out of now where. If you can get comfortable you can stay put.

    Optics Help

I have been fortunate enough to collect some good optics over the last few years. That is up until we went into full blown great depression. But anyways I got the 10x42 el's, 15x56 slc's, range finder and a 60 power spotting scope. Not the HD. The spotting scope hurt my eyes so bad I didn't use it anymore so I traded it for a pair of 15x56 vortex HD's. The vortex are pretty good when you look through them but side by side with the swarovskis there is a difference. I think you get maybe 10 more minutes of light in the morning and maybe 10 more at dusk. Outdoorsman tripods are really good to.

    Unit 23

It's a big unit and I'm being pretty general. Trust me when I come across a big one I'm not telling anybody where he's at. Just haven't seen him yet.

    Unit 23

Ok so this is my first tag in 23 for the October hunt. I've been scouting around the 5000' to 6000' elevation. I've been seeing some good deer and a lot of them. Nothing huge but some nice deer. I have a few friends saying I need to go up into the higher elevations. So my question is should I stay in the lower parts of the unit or head up to the higher parts?

    Unit 23

Well we probably started scouting a little early, but we started going out above gisela. Next we went to the hills above punkin center. Seen whitetail every time we went. Now we've moved over off the cherry creek area. Seen a few but nothing over 100" yet. The only mule deer we've seen have been in the foothills outside of punkin center. If I spot a big one I'll let you know. I'm not sure I'll have time to check out any areas up in the high ground.
