I hope your uncle is wrong. I can't seem to get anything done at home or work because I'm constantly calling or going on line to see what unit we'll be hunting. Almost got divorced over the money and time I spent on last years unit one archery hunt and now I think I drew it again. last year she walked in the bedroom and started yelling at me saying if I hear one more man whisper or another elk bugle I'm going to loose my mind. So now that we drew again I might need a counselor.

With Friday being a holiday I think it's going to be this Thursday. I don't think they'll release the results on a Monday but who knows. I have a friend that works there and he said they like to do it at the end of the week because it bogs all the phones and servers down. This waiting is killing me.

When was the last time anyone has drawn a 3rd choice. Reason I'm asking is because I drew a unit 1 archery bull tag last year and spent all my bonus points. So this year i went with bull tags 1st and 2nd choice and threw in a rifle cow for my 3rd. My card was hit and I was wondering if it's likely I got the cow tag. I usually only put in for bull hunts with my 1st and 2nd and never added a 3rd.

Well I just checked the bonus points for my kids. My 15 year old has 5 points. 4 bonus points plus hunter safety. Next year will also have loyalty point. My 13 year old has 2 plus hunter safety. The application this year went 1st choice unit 1, 2nd choice was 6a, and I went 3a 3c third choice. And still no cc hit for them as of this afternoon. The junior hunt in unit 1 had 1202 first and second choice apps for 150 tags. Unit 6 was 2532 apps for 500 tags. 3a 3c was 1491 apps for 200 tags. Not sure with those #'s how 4 points will get it done for you.

So yesterday I looked at me application and the unit 1cow hunt that I put in for and there was 1255 1st and 2nd choice applicants for 300 tags in that hunt. So I'm thinking it's got to be a bull. 11 years with out a tag and now back to back. I'm feeling really lucky right now. My kids have been putting in for 6 years with out a junior tag.

So what your saying is I probably drew a cow tag!! Now I'm going to go crazy til they post it. I wonder when that will take place?

Was your 5th choice a limited opportunity hunt?
-
Well that makes me feel better because the 3rd choice was a unit 1 rifle cow.

How about a sako 300 win mag?

Has anyone used a Millett long range scope? I was looking at them on Kenton industries website. You can get a 56 mm objective and a 35mm tube with 140 moa with aluminated reticle for 450.00. Would like feed back on these if anyone has used in the past.

I think I'll take it to the range this week and practice with it. Get it dialed in. Hard to believe its a couple weeks out! It's been a long time coming. Can't wait.

Me and my buddy got unit one archery tags this year and we both got GoPros to try out on our hunt. I think that the head strap mount would work best and my buddy thinks that mounting it to the bow would work best. I was wondering if anybody has used one of these before and witch mount worked best.

I don't think mine is going to make it to my hunt! I picked it up on Sunday and my kids have strapped it to just about everything you could imagine. Trampoline, batting cage, swimming pool and bike jumping. I even tried to take a shower with the old lady, she slaped it right off my head. Its pretty durable, if flew to the otherside of the bathroom and didn't break. We are having a blast with it. The picture quality is amazing. Can't wait to call in a big bull!

I have a Sako M995 300 wm. This gun has a Leupold Vari-x III 3.5x10. I set this gun up for a Elk hunt in 02 and haven't shot it since. We used about 20-30 shots to dial it in and one shot on the elk hunt. that's it. The other thing im trying to sell is a Swarovski Habicht 6-18x50 scope. I love the scope but want to upgrade to the Z5. Sako/Leupold $1,100 Swarovski scope $900 Open for trades. Want a high quality glass with custom turrets for my .257. Like maybe a Nightforce or a March maybe? 480-201-8890 If no answer leave a voicemail of text. Im trying to post pics from a Apple and it wont load without flash 9. So if interested let me know and ill email you pics.

Our card hasn't been hit yet and our 5th choise was 100% draw odds last year, so maybe there's hope. I'm hoping the hits so far are first and second choise and today they'll start hitting for 3rd & down. Good luck!

So I've been looking into getting a new pair of 15's. The guys around town are talking about these new swarovskis that are coming out. I looked on the website and don't see anything new. The guys at outdoorsmans said they aren't making any new SLC'S, but not going to release the new ones till all the old ones are gone. The guys at Bass pro said they are getting the new style soon. So does anyone know when we're going to see them?
-
I was going to try them out but they didn't have any field tips or broad heads that would work so I went with the ACC's again. Maybe next year when there's more options.
-
Are these still available?

As long as the kid is with one of the parents! Once the tag is transferred only the name is changed. The tag # stayed the same and it was reprinted in my sons name. Once it's reprinted you wouldn't know the difference.

So after reading a little more about it I'm not so sure. They want to take 276 elk tags out of the draw and auction them off. They also want to do the same thing to all the big game species. I'm going to keep reading up on this and not sure if I like it or not. They do have a ton of big organizations that support them. I wouldn't let this keep me from getting a tripod from outdoorsmans.

Just read the overview of there website. Seems like there trying to keep landowner tags out of AZ, and protecting state trust land. So what are they doing thats hurting us hunters in AZ. Don't have time to research every issue or topic so fill us in.

Ok, so it's the Arizona sportsman for wildlife. I'm looking into it now.
