Unit 1 early archery bull. 3 in a row. I can't believe it. Two years ago I shot a nice bull. It was the best hunt I've ever been on. Seen some huge bulls. Last years hunt was a polar opposite. Heavy rain and 50 mile an hour winds and way to many tags. I hope this year is like 2012. Good luck to everyone in 2014

I think what everyone wants is a little consistency. I think it's BS if there calling people back and giving them a third chance to get there cards right. If you can't get get it right after the email and the deadline to change your card, you don't deserve another call back!

If for some reason it falls threw I'll take it.

So I got into a conversation today with another dad at a high school baseball game about Elk. What unit is the best in AZ? I said unit 1 and the white mt area he said unit 9 or 10. What unit produces the biggest bulls? What is the most coveted tag in AZ?

Grew up there my whole life. Spent quite a bit of time out there and it's tuff. If there's a big bull hanging around on that side of the highway the locals know it. I have seen elk just outside of st. Johns. It's been a long time so it might be different now. I know there out there but it will be a challenge for sure.

I understand the whole what ever unit you know is the best or what ever tag you have is the best at that time. I would love to see the scoreboard. What units produce the most booked animals. Boone and pope. If you are a member of these clubs is that info available? Would like to see that list.

I wish I could find a list that showed the top 20 with the unit # from arizona. Let the results speak for them self. When I look at the record book websites they only show the world record.

So our card was hit this morning. We were drawn last year. So I have the standard two points. So this year I put in for unit 1 early archery 1st, 6a late rifle 2nd, and because I have no points I did a 3rd choice unit 1 cow. I usually only do two early bull archery tags. My question is do you think they have completed the 3rd phase of the drawing or can I still hold on to the chance that we made the second phase of the draw and got a 1st or 2nd choice. I'm trying to tell myself we got a 1st or 2nd choice because we got hit early. What's your opinion?

Ive been shooting the Easton ACC's for a long time and really like them. Is anyone using the lumenocks with ACC's? If so how do you like them. I don't think they make one for that exact arrow so you need to modify the arrow to make them to fit. Do they work good?

I thought it went in like rounds. Bonus point, 1st and 2nd choice, and then the rest. So if they do all at the same time why are cards being ran up to a week after it all starts. If it was 100% done at the same time wouldn't all the cards be hit all at once?

Your right. On the 2013 draw success rate page there was more 1st and 2nd choice applicants then there was permits. So that means i got a bull tag!!

So you think the draw is over, and they've already finished the 3rd round. All the 3rd, 4th and 5th choices. Man you sure know how to smash a mans dreams. Lol. I guess I should assume its a cow tag!

Drew back to back unit 1 archery bull in 1999 and 2000. 1999 bull was 340 and the 2000 bull was 300. Didn't draw another tag till I went back to back again the last two years. Missed the biggest bull of my life in 2012 early in the hunt. Hit a branch with a 400" bull at 10 yards. I was sick to my stomach for days. Ended up connecting on a 370" bull that was fighting with another bull. 2012 was the all time best year for elk in unit 1. Bulls were hot the entire time and were bugling all day. 2013 was the exact opposite of 2012. It rained cats and dogs for 6 days keeping the temps up with little rutting and the last week of the hunt the wind blew at least 40mph. Had a couple chances to close but couldn't get it done.

There's no way they can hold up the process. It would take weeks to go back and check on everyone's account that's been hacked. It would take some sort of investigation to make sure the account was actually hacked. You take the risk by using a card. It would suck to not get a tag for this reason but you could always use a money order or a pre paid card. We use a different card for each app so we know exactly who got the tag. So far we haven't had any problems. I still think its going to start this week. Good luck to everyone! I'm going to go crazy if they take this into next week.

I think it's going to start Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Been lucky enough to draw tags the last two years. Had some of my kids draw some tags also. We've known the cards were hit every time the week before the elk banquet, and that's this weekend. It has to start very soon!! Good luck!!

I was under the impression that the draw went like this. The first round went to the highest bonus point holders up to 20% and the out of state 10%. Then the second round all the bonus points are gone and everyone is on the same page. points dont matter at this point. The rest off the 1st and second choice tags are filled. Then the third round everyone is put back in the pool for the rest of the tags. Not sure if that's exactly right but that's how I understood it. I drew 2 years ago with 14 points, and drew again last year with 2 points. I can't go another 12 year drought! Good luck everyone!
