Its a decent gun for the money, but it is basically an entry level rifle. It is comparable to the savage axis.

I carry 10s around my neck 15s & spotter in my pack, I use the all!

Saw a doe in Utah one year had the right side of her face gone & she was doing fine! I couldn't believe she could survive, but saw her the following year with a fawn. Was amazed to say the least!

Anybody with a cabelas card have a hit yet. I have been checking mine all day & no pending transactions. This is the first time Ive used cabelas card for the draw. My Atm card was compromised over the 4th of july so had to update card info.

Just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Leupold. I have a Leupold vxII 3x9x40 that I wanted the reticle changed. This was not warranty work I requested to have a different reticle installed. I sent the scope off to them and confirmed with the mail service it had arrived. Within a day I had an email confirming they received it & needed payment for the custom work. I called to make arrangements for payment they told me the turn around time was about 3 to 4 weeks out. I said no problem now mind you I sent this in on 5-28-15. I came home from work today and there is my scope with the new reticle all serviced & ready to install back on my Ruger 30-06. What a great turn around time & the service was excellent!! Its no wonder Leupold is an outstanding company! Just wanted to voice my opinion on a great company thanks Leupold!!

Not sure if this is the right section, but I want to camo paint my Savage 111 LRH rifle stock it feels like it has a rubbery coating on it? Has anyone painted one of these stocks & if so did you have to sand the rubbery coating or just prime over it than start camo process?

Get the Kodiak tent!! Use a propane heater & turn it on just before you go to bed than again in the morning to take the chill off. Definitely get a good sleeping bag. The shower part is up to you, we usually heat up water & take a sponge bath & use baby wipes before bed. We usually smell pretty rank on the way home, but we don't care its hunting!!

Hey guys what are you running on your long range rigs? I am getting into long range shooting & will also be using this rifle for hunting. I have been researching which scope to go with I am looking at the Vortex pst 6x24x50 in first focal plane, but have been reading conflicting stories about first & second focal plane. Which would be the best for my money? I know second focal plane is cheaper, but I am after the best use of my dollar. Thanks for any input.

I changed my existing duplex reticle to the long range reticle & the cost was $70.00. I went on Leupolds website to get info than printed out a service form filled it out with what I wanted done & mailed it off to them. If you send it in make sure to put insurance on it just incase something happens in the mail.

I can't begin to tell you how disgusted I am with the scum we have running this country. I could write a book so I will keep it short, we as Americans need to take back our country!! These scumbags in DC need to go & I am sorry to say it is on both sides of the fence Democrat & Republican!! We need fresh new blood in DC who actually care about this country & its future. The jerkoffs in there now only care about lining their pockets!! Obama is a disgrace & I can not even look at the guy without my blood boiling. I truly feel sorry for my kids & their kids they are going to really suffer if something doesn't change. The America I knew growing up is long gone & it is truly very sad what is happening!!

I got it at second amendment sports in California. I researched for almost a year before deciding on a savage. They are easy to get parts for & accurate shooters out of the box.
