The general rule is the later the better if you are wanting to take advantage of buck chasing does. I'd recommend the last five days of the year if you can. Since the December hunts are in units with good populations, just as important is your scouting.....

I really appreciate the story and the photos.....your extra effort makes it an adventure for us not there....! I've hunted 27/28 several times for mule deer and coues, its a very tough coues hunt, at least for me!!. Congrats on a great hunt and an exceptional buck.

Doesn't get better than that......fun in the scouting, family in the hunt, success with a trophy coues!

Congrats to your Mom Becker! When you say you had been watching him, wasn't Andy there with you the whole time videoing them all summer with you? I thought you guys logged some serious hours watching those deer. No? Don't want to speak for them, but..... Devin and Andy have watched monsters this summer and have some incredible video footage. We need to convince them to put out a DVD with some of the deer footage (all year), and maybe some of the other animal footage thats great! Let's put the pressure on to get the DVD out!!! Bill
