making a pipe from an antler?
Rembrant replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Had a couple of em when I was a doper. If you don't line the pipe you'll get the same wonderful smell as when you drill it, except worse, and into your lungs. Mike -

Len Munsil was the latest Republican candidate for governor. And I voted for him. And the Christian right did also. Mike -
C'n'S, Yep those will work just fine, but the same thing in 6's will work just finer. Give it a thought; You're gonna call in a gobbler to 40 yds or within, then you're gonna pepper his head with lead shot. A little pellet in the brain works just as good as a little bit bigger pellet in the brain. Wouldn't you want to have a denser pattern, more pellets per square inch to insure a brain shot at a target of about 2 square inches? 4's are OK, but not as good as 6's. 2's are wasteful - they waste turkeys. Breaking bones don't work too good with quail or turkeys; break legs they fly, break wings they run. Brain shots work each and every time. Don't ask me how I know. Mike

Then why is Napolatano a two term governor? Arizona used to be Republican to the core; welcome to Calizona. I never could figure out why McCain failed to sort out if marraige should be between one man and one woman. A friend of mine suggested there should be a new "Conservative" party. Mike -

That's why Jesus said, "They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. John 16: 2-4 -

A couple of relevant Bible verses: God said unto them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1: 28 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness. 1 Corinthians 3: 18 Cool stuff! Animal rights people obviously don't read the Bible. God has given us dominion over the animals. And if the earth really is being subdued by people; we're doing what God told us to do in the very first chapter of the Bible. Math is perfect, yet is fully understood only by the One who created it. People are pretty smart (another gift from God), but our wisdom wouldn't amount to a wart on God's litle finger. What's amazing is that He loves us anyway. Mike -

I like what you're saying Lark. I don't think you can substantiate the comments about Obama, but as harsh as your words are, you may very well be right. Ever since the Dems absorbed the liberal party, they are just plain whacky! If they would put forth a moderate candidate instead of a female or black history making gimmick, they'd win! But instead of the Dems nominating a moderate, the Republicans put up a less than conservative guy. Weird. Anyway, I like what you said about the U.S.A. being devine and our forfathers inspired. Sound more like something I would write rather than you. Mike -

Deep, Deeep sigh... Mike -
Lark, Your uncle is a neanderthal?! The monkeys in your family tree fell out on to the ground a little later than most folk's. I had a dental hygenist tell me that people with wisdom teeth are not quite as advanced along the evolutionary chain as people that don't develop them. She told me this as she was cleaning my wisdom teeth. Can't blame people too much, as we are brainwashed from grade school into thinking that the unproven theory is law. See it all over TV too. If we don't give it too much thought we just accept it: Hook, Line, and Sinker! It's a powerful bait, and I guess we're trout. I'd rather be a flathead catfish - show me some meat! Mike

I think there is a strong possibility that those swimming javelina could have been randomly turning back into hippos (hippos being more primative because they're in Africa, according to the evolutionary stuff I learned in highschool). Random evolutionary mutations are exactly that - random, right? So they can go forward, or backward, or sideways. Funny how the theory has everthing mutating to the more complex. If its random, how do these mutations know which way to go? That would be giving "random" a direction, or purpose. Wow! Thinking is fun! We should do it more often. Mike

Isaac got to see his first mountain lion
Rembrant replied to GRONG's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
You are absolutely right Josh, you and your Dad you are men. Men seek adventure, a battle to fight, and a beauty to rescue. Obviously the Epperson men have no problem in passing masculinity down to their sons. Isaac is blessed just as you are. Mike -
Javelinas marry hippos??! Mike
-
Javelinas are related to javelinas. The only way they can be related to pigs or rodents is by marraige, but animals don't do that. Maybe there are some liberal ASPCA folks on the East or West coasts that can have it done for them. Mike

I haven't read up on it yet, but I heard our governor bypassed the legislation and by executive order created medical insurance benefits for same sex domestic partners of state employees. What's even stranger is that it was nearly invisible. Nobody, and I mean nobody is crying foul. Welcome to Calizona. Mike

Governor executive order
Rembrant replied to Rembrant's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Gotta tell ya since I started this thread that Janet also is honoring opposite sex domestic partners of state employees. Just found out. She pulled a quick one though, did it by executive order and bypassed the legislature - the representitives of we the people. She knows what shes doing - I never said she was dumb, just different. It's just camoflauge, and further degradation of the institution of marraige. I never used to care about what people did privately either, but then again I was a drunk and didn't care about a whole lot of things. Now that my life has been changed, I am more aware of what's going on around me and how bad behavior can affect all of us. I'm glad a lot of people jumped in on this string. This kinda stuff needs to be discussed, and not ignored. Should it be discussed on a deer hunting forum? I think so, because we need to know who our governor is and what she is capable of. Call 'em what you want; secular progressives, liberals, whatever. I see them as people that ignore God, think human life is expendable when its inconvenient (babies, old people, sick people), and think animals are more important than humans. by ignoring Godly principles they can now make up their own rules about life, sex, and morals. Tolerance used to mean we could agree to disagree, and still be respectful of each other. Now it seems to mean that if you don't agree with a secular progressive, and have the nearve to say so, you are a hate monger and a danger to society. Our Game Commissioner is retiring, were gonna have the lead bullet issue crammed down our throats, anti-hunters are being imboldened, and we have a governor that doesn't want problem lions shot, appears on the cover of Echo Magazine (gay), and now has by executive order allowed health benefits to the highest health risk population at our expense. Yep folks, this is kinda important. I voted for Munsil. Mike -
Governor executive order
Rembrant replied to Rembrant's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Keith, You just krammed a whole bunch of serious thinking into a couple of paragraphs. I really like the Darwinian thought. But the bottom line is that it really doesn't work - typical of liberal thinking. Three major points: 1) Remember when a person with high health risks couldn't get heath insurance? (My dad ran into that his whole life because he had a heart murmur). Now days some corporations - and now the state - hand out health benifits to the highest health risk known; gay males. This at great expense to everyone else. 2) If you hand out health insurance to same-sex domestic partners, you better do the same for opposite-sex domestic partners as well or you are discriminating against them. 3) Like Keith said, How do you prove you're gay? If Keith and I hold hands and skip into the HR office, does that qualify? There is simply way too much room for fraud! I think we as a society have gone way to far to accomadate this unhealthy lifestyle. Here is political correctness discriminating against other people. The Darwinian thought: If gay people are born that way - as they claim, then natural selection over eons of time would have eliminated the variety of genes that are impossible to reproduce themselves - right? Janet goofed, yet we have been so desensitized to this lifestyle that we have hardly noticed. This is a bigger tragedy. Mike -

Gee, you think burrying gut piles would be more feesable? And a lot better for all the economical ramifications that come with banning lead bullets and all the hunting that goes with it? Sometimes I think I'm a genious - the California legislature makes this easy. Mike -
Good job, Larry. The only problem I have ever had with any meat processor in Flagstaff, is hoping that my nice clean, well cared-for carcass doesn't touch any one of those nasty horrors hanging in the cooler! Mike

I've got an old 1995 "Arizona Wildlife Trophies" book in my hand and in the typical catagory you got to to #9 to drop into the 125's. In the NT catagory the 125's start at #35. This helps draw a bit of a picture. You need to see the current edition. Congrats on that giant buck!!! Mike

Mr. Mass (aka: The velvet trixter) gets a photo session with smilin Epperson

Josh, What a slammer!! That is one of the most beautiful bucks there ever was. Maybe the velvet image should go over the heart and the hard boned feller should dominate the back of the shirt. OOOOPS!! Do you have those shirts in production yet Amanda? Mike -
Yep, He's over 100" gross. Mike

Congratulations on such a fine buck!! But, uh, I usually wait until light O'Clock. Mike
