Did it on a research trip in June 2020. It's hot af but not bad if you keep covered and jump in every so often. Sleep as close to the river as possible for the cooling effect. If you can find out the dam release schedule. We had small cots but one guy set up too close and woke up with water running under him and had some stuff washed away.

This is because the comment period for hunting guidelines is right now. It happens every 5 years I believe. I watched a lot of the last commission meeting and there were tons of antis calling in and no hunters really. Unfortunately this is becoming the norm and we may all have to step up. Everyone should definitely send an email in support.

Saw this on Instagram...what’s your take?

Yeah I guess it may be possible. Regardless I'd personally rather give this a go than lose the opportunity outright. -

Unless they do seasonal quotas like bear. -

December and January are different hunt years so if it was closed opening weekend of Dec it should open back up in Jan. -
I go a fair amount, mostly to pleasant as I'm in the valley. I've heard the Colorado can have decent visibility.

Interested, I'll send a text.

Predator & Furbearer Meat?
LifeFeedsOnLife replied to Newbie71's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I may try it one of these times. I shot a bobcat last year and my buddy was trying to talk me into eating but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I won't consider coyote though. -
Hope the pinals aren't bad as they seem. Sad deal if so.

A bunch of fish were given to the herpetological society and that guy was hired to haul the rest to the dump. Guess he didn't like the thought of it sitting all weekend.

Maybe not a western in the traditional sense but Maverick is a good one.

Hopefully all those disenfranchised will quit putting in so they don't have to deal with it anymore.

You're probably right but in all the years it hasn't happened to me. The more people with bad cards out there the more likely I am to draw 😁
-
They might. The thing is though them running the draw the day after cc updates is nice but isn't a hard and fast date. The day to update cc is. If people are that close to the wire on expiration dates they should've changed it when they could.

You very well may be right. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try. https://www.azgfd.com/agency/commission/members/ I'm not sure if this is the best way to contact them or not but it's a way.
-
I think as a general rule most hunters are pretty complacent and don't take the opportunity to voice their opinions in the rule making process.
-
I agree. This is an issue where anyone who enjoys using trail cameras no matter how busy you think you are, needs to take 10 - 15 minutes out their day to email or call the commission.
-
You can call in or video chat for any of the meetings and not have to leave your house.
-
Gotta be was at this point. They're all but gone now in mesa.

You in the north or south? -
According to Jim Heffelfinger, who works for azgfd, there's no evidence to suggest Merriam's DNA in our current AZ elk as much as I think it would be really cool. http://www.deernut.com/Documents/Merriams_Elk_AWV.pdf

I don't set out to drive around to hunt all day but if I'm going from A to B I certainly keep my eyes peeled.
