Deer Draw: What was everyone's first and second choice?
Younghunter replied to reganranch's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
1st choice 36a dec. 2nd choice 36c dec. Wesley -
After reading the posts on here and doing some research I decided it was between the T/C Triumph and Knight Mountaineer. There was many times I was close to getting a T/C but I really liked the look of the Knight. After talking with my brothers and dad we decided that we could pay the extra money as this will be a lifetime investment. What made me make the final decision to go with the Knight was, a thread on huntingnet.com that asked if a Triumph or Mountaineer was better. Most of the people that had owned both, said the Mountaineer was a bit better but both were real high quality. I do think I would have been happy with either gun but I feel the Knight is a better made muzzleloader. I want to thank you again for all your imput. I love this forum!! Sincerely, Wesley

My brother just drew a muzzy goat tag, and we were wondering what is the best muzzleloader to get with a 500 dollar budget. Thank you, Wesley

Nowhere, I am just trying to figure out which muzzleloader to get. I have spent hours researching, I get to where I think I know which one to get and then I read something else and then I am back to being unsure. I am trying to decide between a T/C or Knight. What are your thoughts SirRoyal? Thanks again everybody for your input I really do appreciate it. Wesley

I guess I could be wrong but I would suggest that sniper take another look at his bonus points. -

I believe that 14 bonus is max for deer, I think. -
Finally the draw is available. I will be applying this week.

I was just wondering what brand is your personal favorite. If you want you can also tell me the specific bow name.

I could go and kill a cow elk nearly every day of the year. If I decide to hunt a bull, it suddenly becomes much harder and then if I change that to a trophy bull it becomes much MUCH HARDER!! To me that's the biggest thing about scores - the challenge. I admit that it is fun to brag about it too . Wesley

Does anyone have tips on how to glass mule deer. Wesley
-
Walk less and glass more. If you think it's a good spot, put in your time. It could very well take several hours. I have found, here in Colorado, the bucks get back up at roughly 1:00 to stretch their legs and get a bite to eat. Most hunters are napping in camp at that time. [/quote/] On my hunt which ended 3 weeks ago, we decided to glass all day. We glassed a buck right at 12:30. I ended up shooting him; he was a 3x3 and scored 158". So now I can say from experience that you gave me excellent advice. Thanks again to everyone who helped me out. Wesley

Great job! What did he score?

When my brother shot his antelope the three other hunters in the unit walked up and shook his hand.

That kid is thrilled! I love the picture of him sleeping with it. Congratulations on an awesome buck.

Nice! First a bear now a mulie. The horns almost look like they belong to a eastern whitetail.
