we have a 18 inch plate that we shoot at 1,000 yards and its 3\4 inch thick we shoot a 338 Mclearn (it's custom) and it just put's dents in it no holes I'm not sure how fast it's goeing at that far but I do Know it has the same amount of energy at 1000 yards as a 30-06 does at the muzzle we weilded old coil springs off a car on the bottom of the plate and its pretty cool

I have a Black Creek Guide Geer Canadan and it's awesome! I like a big pack cause I do a-lot of back pack hunts it holds my 15s 10s and my rifle or bow pluse hind quarters of an elk. It's expensive but deffinetly worth it

Cartridge / Reloading Question
#1huntinfool replied to sjvcon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
my dad is a gunsmith in Payson and he designed a round he had a 338 titan but the brass was junk so every time he shot he had to throw the brass away $2.00 bucks every time he shot his gun. So a friend told him that lapua brass was good but the round was smaller than his round so he loaded half of of what he normally did in it and fire formed it. So far he has 9 shots thru 1 piece of brass and it is far more accurate than it was it shoots 1 inch at 300 yards every time! -
