There is no mandatory reporting in units that are a draw.....

The Bowhunter Happening is a competitive/non competitive shoot, yer choice. It is a blast, we just bought 10 new Rineharts fer the shoot, which includes a moose, caribou, more elk, wolf, lion, etc. plus the targets the ABA already owns. The shoot is Memorial Day weekend at Sunrise Ski resort, so you ride the lift up and shoot the courses going downhill. There will also be vendors present for those of you that drew a tag and wish to buy that new bow. if you want more info, go to arizonabowhunters.org.....or just ask me

ABA Bowhunter Happening May 24-26

I don't know of any state land in the north large enough to hold this shoot. USFS requires a permit every year and in the past has asked for a EIS. They have also closed the forest requiring us to cancel the shoot. Sunrise is a great place fer the shoot especially with the lift...........see ya there!! -
sent you an email

There wont be any LO tags north of the CR.....the proposal is 1000 tags and their estimate last year was over 2000 bowhunters, which will cause those hunters to go into the OTC units. Which in turn, will cause those units to go to a draw in the next 5 years. Watch what you wish for......

"(See if that will get a rise out of any of them)" I got you to respond didn't I? And, thanks by the way.

Bad points for the Guilloltine is you have to aim fer the head, plus they are not accurate at distances over 20 yds....too much wind plane.

help me focus on which new bows to try
bowhuntinmaniac replied to Schmitty's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I second the Bowtech General, great bow fer us with long arms. I am 6'5 and have a 31 1/2 draw length. But, make sure the bow feels good to you before you buy it. With today's bows, you dont need 80 lbs. When I bought the General, I went from 72 to 65 lbs and am still getting good speed. -
I dont know of a 1.5" fixed head that only weighs 100 grains. Why dont you have him try a 2 blade Snyper? They dont burn any KE so he would be fine with it for a small animal.

If I remember right, the company is based in San Diego. They may have a website where you can get the right arrows, if nothing else, call them. They are very helpful. Sorry to hear about yer mom in law.
-
No prob Jason. These arrows shoot great, and come in different sizes just like any other carbon. Pink arrows wont hurt yer image, in fact it may help, when people realize why you are shooting them. I am taking them to TX next week on my hunt, and maybe I will give some away to those that ask, "why in the he!! are you shooting pink arrows?!"

Hey Jason, Notice how pathetic and selfish these people are here? Over 200 hits to yer thread and no responses besides us......it seems like bowhunters always want to help, but I guess they just want to help themselves and don't care about the others. (See if that will get a rise out of any of them)

Here is another pic from ND. In this particular unit, you get 1 any tag, and I ahve been able to buy all of the doe tags I want. Last year, I killed 1 nice buck and 3 does.
-
Yeah, no prob....any kind of publicity for this is good. The word I got was, they want to count it for all kinds of cancer and Victory has stepped up to help educate plus donating to help find a cure.
-
Jason, here is a pic, even thought it is not the best.....hard to take pics by yerself. I actually wrote a blog about this but something has happened to it. I leave in 1 1/2 weeks fer Texas fer hogs and turkey, and I have my pinks ready to go.

North Dakota has some great bucks, is OTC, and their archery season goes from Labor Day weekend thru December, so is very easy to fit into yer schedule....

Jason, I have 1 dozen of the pink arrows and took my javelina in January with 1. In fact, I have decided to use only pink arrows for my hunts this year. It is amazing the numbers of times I get asked why I have pink arrows in my quiver. It is a worthwhile project and this is a great way to educate people.

Great buck, but I do have a question......... You said you have to hike 2 miles in to hunt this spot, I noticed in the pics, the fence seems to be well maintained. I take it that no vehicles are allowed to where you are going, so is this a wilderness? Just doesnt look remote if a rancher is using it........and just curious, I am not going to try to find yer spot.

North Dakota Pheasant....
bowhuntinmaniac replied to IHunt2live's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Just got back from North Dakota last week (deer hunting) and man, there is alot of pheasant, grouse, and geese....Geesh!!! I sat in a treestand and was amazed at the thousands of geese flying over. Oh yeah, and I can say I saw about 300 deer in 6 days of hunting. Just to give you an idea of the number of deer, you can buy all of the doe tags you want. I bought 4 doe tags and 1 buck tag, and got 1 buck and 3 does. have fun on yer hunt,
