Glad you are okay. Very good advice to all of us. Good luck chasing the bears and deer!

Born and raised in AZ with a 13 year side track to NM. I got drawn for elk 11 out of 13 tries in NM. I've been drawn 3 out of 30 tries in AZ! I Love both places. The weather is better in NM (except for the wind). You actually get 4 seasons in NM instead of the 2 seasons in the valley. NM has much better stream fishing but AZ has better lake fishing. Love the food in both places with the edge going to Green Chiles! NM is proud of its heritage and makes sure to keep it. True Arizonans are proud of their heritage as well we just don't have many of us around. PHX metro is mostly made up of transplants! NM has a LOT fewer people which makes it really nice. AZ has more job opportunities compared to NM. School systems are both mediocre (not the teachers) with AZ getting the edge IMO. If I had the opportunity to move back to NM I would. My wife would go back in New York Minute (especially when it's 110 degrees here)!

Careful they might be Mule steaks!

Fixed wing will give just as much info for a lot less money. Don't see anything wrong using this method to learn an area. water, access and camping. It doesn't beat boots on the ground but helps you decide where to spend the most time walking. As mentioned make sure the pilot is watching where he's going instead of what's on the ground. There are a lot of cables across canyons and power lines out there. I did see an ultralight flying on opening day of Elk in 5BN one year. Called him in to G&F but don't know if they caught him.

Cannot disagree with your logic. I just like it to be cooler so I don't have to dance around the buzztails. Believe me nobody wants to see me dance! Rattlesnakes or not.

Beautiful pictures. Please keep posting them. Thanks for sharing.

Just remember I'm going down earlier to kill that 1 big buck before your hunt! Hahahaha. If there are 2 I'll tie the smaller one to a tree and maybe tell you where it is.....

RIP Wallboy! It was a treasure to get to grow up with them even though I never got a Ladmo bag either!

I just went through this a couple of months ago. It really is losing a part of your family and of yourself. So sorry you have to go through this.

WOW! Great Shot! Congrats young Man! -
+1 on Edge doing that for you!

I vote BOTH! I agree with TJ on the meat factor as long as it's a desert Muley. Desert Deer taste much better than the high elevation deer, IMO. Just so long as I get out and hunt one of them I'm good!

Can't wait to see the finished product and targets. -
Congrats on some great trophies! what a blessing to have the whole family with you. Thanks for sharing the story and pictures with us. Well done Mr. Quimby! It is so nice to hear about people sharing instead of keeping the good stuff to themselves.

85 grains should be enough. Use the gutless method and let her get her hands dirty.

Man that is great for her! Spoiled is the right term. Keep spoiling her and find her a giant buck! Congrats on the tag. I got early November 36C. If I find 2 giants I'll tie one to a tree for you guys!
-
You forgot to ask for a camp cook and somebody to pack it out for you!
-
Which hunt? December?
-
36C November for me, my 89 year old Dad and my Brother! Cannot help being excited to have one more hunt with my Dad!
